What a load of rubbish.

All those who say "its only a friendly" need to stop and think about the fact that pre-season friendlies are there for a purpose.

Well if that's the case then man city are shit then?????

Naughty has been good, but although he played left back at Sheffield United, he clearly has no left foot and doesn't even look comfortable controlling the ball with it.

Yeah just to get your fitness up to scratch....that's it, there meaningless.

Pre season friendlies are here for fitness i'm sure you all remember us thrashing Roma at the lane and then having our worst start in the league in many years so i wouldn't read anything into this.....

You need to be able to take positives and negatives out of a performance. This is not a good performance. Don't forget this is Villareal's pre season as well and they're seemingly up for it.

We're missing some big names and there are square pegs in round holes, but the ease in which we are being bossed and losing possession should be noted even if it shouldn't be panicked over.

Keane & defoe really dont make a good partnership. Naughton getting involved but not very effective. Hutton has been poor imo. Kranky playing well.

I know its only a friendly but no excuse for so many mis placed passes

We've probably just got a couple too many players out there who are a) not likely to get a game any time soon and b) only had 3 days training so far to put together a proper performance-i wouldnt get too worried

Rose has impressed me. I know he started his Spurs career as a CM, but the fact that the kid can turn his hand to left back, right midfield, left midfield and striker as well is very impressive.

I do agree but there is no need to get carried away, as u said square pegs and round holes. This won't happen during the season.

As usual our strikers can't hold the ball up - it keeps going straight back to the opposition.

Villareal are playing really well. The defence doesnt worry me as three of the four aren't first choice. It is the strikers who are worrying me. We are crying out for a striker who can actually play on their own

First time Danny Rose has impressed me. He looks much better in the middle than on the wing, though he did put in great cross.
