He's re-injured his knee, out for another six months.
Damn. Ah well, I think it would be safer to let someone else take a punt on him then. His mind might be effed after this, as well as his knee.

Seems quite common to re-injure a cruciate injury on the way back to fitness. How likely is it that he would regain full fitness ?
Would he still be worth a risk ?

He has time to prove his fitness in the second half of next season.

You don't really want an ACL weakness. That's some serious shit.

It gets worse for Rossi,

Giuseppe Rossi has been handed a huge blow with the news that his recovery from a second knee ligament injury could take as long as 10 months.

The 25-year-old striker saw his hopes of involvement with Italy at Euro 2012 end 10 days ago after he suffered a recurrence of the same injury he had seemingly just recovered from.
Having been in training for the previous month after a five-month lay-off after knee ligament damage sustained in October, the player suffered the same injury again.

Rossi changed surgeons and underwent an operation last Friday under the knife of famed knee specialist Dr Richard Steadman in the US, with the player initially expected to be facing six months out, as he had done previously.

However, part of Dr Steadman’s recovery from this latest version of the injury will reportedly require the footballer to undergo a second operation in four months time, before then starting a six-month period of recuperation on the sidelines after that.

I hope he makes a comeback.

He had 1 good season and has had 2 bad injuries this year. Cannot justify spending big money on him...also don't see him being a big hit in England his style suits Spain and Italy

What a shame. I remember being really impressed with him in the few Villarreal games I watched in past seasons. It'd be a shame if he couldn't return to the same level that he was before these injuries.

We need to have players like Adebayor. Would not mind Ivorian duo Lacina Traore and Seydou Doumbia.

Any problem with you knee, every player should go to Steadman. Injuries like that can have a massive impact on a player, makes me think of Robbie Fowler, never the same player. He should have achieved so much more.

Probably would have done had he been of French/African descent.

At least he won't have to suffer the indignity of playing in the mickey mouse Europa league if that's the case.
