If you wanted to design the perfect PL striker he'd look something like Janssen: tall, strong, aggressive, mobile, technically adept, excellent finisher.

He looks absolute quality, and I'm shocked that we managed to get him with so little competition from big PL clubs.

Already a name for the starting line-up IMO. I don't care what Pochettino must do to fit him in. More than any other player is Janssen wasted on the bench.

I agree. But when did 5'11 become tall?

Where did I say we changed formation?
You were having a go at a previous poster who said teams didn't need to change formation when chasing a game by implying bringing Janssen on for Dier was such a change. If you weren't implying this then why quote and challenge the previous poster?

Unless I'm looking at a different post he said formation or approach.

If Poch had swapped Kane for Janssen then you'd be right but swapping a defensively minded midfielder for a striker is a change to the approach to the game.

We've got a player here lads. Some idiots will focus on his miss but that performance was near perfect. Ran all day, won everything in the air, laid on several chances. Still not fully up to speed and missed a sitter but looks tailor made for the premier league.

His hold up play is excellent. The little through ball to Rose in the first half was excellent. He's most excellent.

Out and out bully. Top class attitude. Great bit of work by the scouting / transfer team, really fits our team and at such a great price for a striker these days.

Feel for him on that miss. He worked his socks off today and deserved a goal. He gives us another option we badly missed at points last season. Once his first goal comes I'm sure lots will follow.

He has been excellent so far. Totally agree about him being the perfect striker for the prem and ideal for us. I think all that we are missing now is some guile in the final 3rd and we will be challenging again this season.

Very impressed with him looks to be a quality signing, first goal is around the corner, hopefully against the scousers, can see him unsettling their defence with his work rate.

as above great attitude love his presence and goal just around the corner. Wish we'd retired the nine jersey so the juju doesn't rub off!

Work rate is unbelievable. He isn't lightening quick, but won't give up on a loose ball even if he knows he's going to be beaten to it. Already a fan favourite it seems.

Shame about the miss. Hopefully when his first goal comes they'll start flooding in!

Him, dembele and victor on at the same time is a good option to have for some games. Slowly getting towards the mix of attributes we need. More speed and creativity now and we're sorted.

He's the opposite of Victor in that respect - starts off slow and accelerates over yards and builds up quite a head of steam. Victor's 'nippy' over a the first few yards and then actually slows down. :D

Vince is faster than I first thought though and has enough in his boots to keep the oppo. scared.

He's gonna be a total star for us and I'm pretty sure poch will have used him in all positions in the attacking 4 by the end of the season.

Really exciting player.

Really enjoyed watching him so far and it gives us great options. He's been a bit unlucky in that he could have scored in both games so far, but hopefully it will happen soon, so he doesn't start to get that hanging over him. Would be perfect to see a player with his enthusiasm scoring the winner against the dippers.
