megabucks? I think it's pretty decent pricing, considering his talent and when you consider the money flying around in the TW nowadays.

I am profusely stating this to anyone believing he is such a talent will be in for an unpleasant surprise. I will gladly own up if I am wrong but seriously doubt I will be.

His record shows a guy who has stepped up from the Dutch second tier, having scoring consistently, getting a move to the Eredivisie, finishing top scorer in his first season. Stepped up to international stage, 3 goals in 5 appearances. No disputing that if you put him on the pitch and put the ball to him, he scores. Not so flash on the ball as some would like, but appears keen, hard working, and ambitious to be better, Pochettino favoured traits, and above all else, lethal infront of goal. He's the type of striker I think we need, a guy who will break the stubborn resistance of the typical draws against the likes of Everton, WBA etc.

I think Batshuayi is off to Juve. It's either Janssen or Sanabria, and right now Janssen is probably a bit more ready to hit the ground running. I'd hope this could be done quick so he can get a full preseason to get up to speed.

Plenty of media coverage that we're still in for Sanabria too, but getting both was dismissed by some ITK. Interesting to see who the rumoured second forward is. Vazquez has had media coverage.

if Batman is too rich for our taste then I would hope that Janssen is the striker we sign rather than Sanabria. VJ looks like he could adapt well to the prem but I'd have concerns that Sanabria would take a few seasons to settle.

Agree, Sanabria is a bit younger and less experienced, looks like he could need a season or so to adapt, like Lamela, however Janssen is already stepping up to international level with the same consistency, perhaps would settle quicker like Eriksen.
Would still like both, but seems if it's only going to be one, then Janssen is our best bet.

I'm still sceptical we will get another striker in before the first game of the season just going on past summer transfer window history. Surely if we really wanted this guy it would be done and he'd be ready to join us for preseason?

Even though the kids are usually back for the first week of July, the internationals probably won't start preseason for another 2-3 more weeks.

It seems that's usually the case. Was reported as the reason LFC bid big for Mane this week. With Janssen in particular, I think we will push hard to secure a deal as he is not on international duty. Not sure about Sanabria and the Copa America?

I honestly don't know about Sanabria or his situation mate, but I really hope you're right about us pushing hard to get Janssen (or any target) done quickly.

“Apparently I’ve given a fee, but that is nonsense. I am against any newspaper naming an amount. In fact, I’m against any club mentioning the amount we want for Vincent.”

As for offers for the player from Tottenham and Wolfsburg: “We have rejected them. There is therefore no change in the situation surrounding Janssen. I read that Paris Saint-Germain might be interested, but we know nothing about that. PSG have not spoken to us.”
