It makes sense for players that want out / we want out to train,
buying clubs want players that are up to speed and ready for the season.
The reason for player to not train is when it's needed to force club to sell (Bale, Berbatov etc.)
While a reason for not involving a player is when you know that player would be happy to just take the money he's on and stick around the place, players that might turn down a move because it's good to be a Spurs player - both at the training ground and in the London night life (dunno who i'm talking about here .. )

Chiriches, Fiorentina ready to close: all details

Nuanced, for now Milinkovic-Savic, the Fiorentina back with character on the market.Reinforcement coming from the Premier League, because the Romanian Vlad Chiriches is getting closer. Defender Tottenham ready to change vest, Viola plans to close between Monday and Tuesday. Figures? 1 million loan plus 5 redemption . Only competitor and antagonist, for now, Galatasaray, which would give the boy a high salary, but it is the same Chiriches prefer the Serie A to the Turkish Super Lig. So purple ready to close, Chiriches closer.

So £/€1m for one-year loan with option to buy for £/€5m- (I don't know if it's Pounds or Euros)

It could be a guaranteed purchase at the end, like the Negredo deal with Valencia.

Maybe but 6m euros (total) sounds very cheap, not like us to knock off 4m euros just like that. If it is £s i can understand it.

Loan move seems strange. Maybe that's all we could get for him? He's pretty useless so it must of been tough finding buyers. Considering we only spend what we make from player sales we need all the money we can get...

This could be good for us, one decent season and we could get a larger fee.

He has the technical ability to shine in Italy

On the other hand, once they've finished rolling on the floor laughing at his defending they will send him back and we will be stuck with the clown forever.

Personally I don't think he does. Italy is a more open league in terms of room to play but you still need to be tactically clever especially as a defender. Now, I don't know about you but I think Vlad is a moron when it comes to decisions On the pitch. Sometimes I don't think he even knows where he is...

Fees totalling (loan + permanent transfer) €7M, so taking a loss on him.

Do you really expect anything else the man is a centre half who lacks almost all the abilities to be a centre half - ie he can't head a ball, has no recognition of danger and gives the ball away cheaply - a poor signing and a poor player

Via Sky:

"LA VIOLA NEAR SPURS DEFENDER

Fiorentina are closing in on Tottenham centre-back Vlad Chiriches, reports Sky Italia.

La Viola have initially offered to take the Romania international on a season-long loan at a cost of €1.5m.

However, the Serie A club will then have the option to buy the player permanently next summer for €5.5m."

I'm hoping the agreement is for a permeant transfer and not an option.

The fact that we are getting paid real money and freeing up a squad place for 1 season at least is good enough for me.
