You guys beginning to feel it yet?? That feeling of potential glory...that feeling in your gut that something immense is upon us? :)
Yup, I do have an extra spring in my step. Everything about Spurs is immense ATM, and that includes Bale leaving.

Odds on us are 18/1 now, still behind Arsenal who are at 14/1. I think that's a great price for us. Chelsea are favorites at about 2/1, are they nine times better than us, or nine times more likely to win it than we are? I don't think so...

2/1 = 33.33% chance of winning the Premiership
18/1 = 5.26% chance

The gap between the top 5 (even top 6 with Liverpool) is getting closer, but you have to say Man Utd, Man City, and Chelsea are ever so slightly better at the moment. Just.

We're gonna get a striker. They're not gonna go this far and then not get a striker to cover solly. Wouldn't make sense when money is obviously no object.:)

I hope so, because we're still one injury from looking quite thin up front. But this window has shown that we can truly trust Levy/Baldini/AVB to run a football club. This is really a world class show that they've put on for everyone.

Agreed.

Too early for the title but next year with a season under the belt we'll be right up there. Great time to be a Spurs fan.

Agree, I'm just a couple years younger than you but never in my lifetime have we had such a strong squad on paper.

I should stress the on paper part, at the moment we literally have no idea how this squad will perform as a team. How will they react when we go a goal or 2 down, when decisions go against us, will we be able to finally break down those park the bus teams at whl? Well we would all like to think so with the players we have.

Look at Chelsea yesterday, I hate them with a passion, but somehow they manage to take the European champions to penalties with 10 men for a lot of the 2nd half, even going in front in injury time.

If you compare that with how we folded at the Emirates last season! So the mentality thing is key.

And how we play and the result we get tomorrow is massive. The team know that we have quality players weighting in the wings so they should be giving 1000% if they want to have any hope of keeping their spot.

Don't think we'll win it this year. But one season for the squad to gel while getting used to the Prem (all our signings have come from abroad), and we could very well be up there next season and certainly the season after. I've never been this excited for Spurs' future as I am right now. 22 and I honestly never thought Spurs would win the league in my life time, however right now that view is changing. See how it goes this season, top 4 and push on like City. Maybe winning one of the cups will help with the hunger for trophies as well as confidence amongst the squad.

We have a lot of young players. I don't like using the concept 'when players hit their peak' but the players we have like Walker, Vert, Rose, Erikson, Lamela, Holtby, Carrol, ect will all be growing up together so when they're at their supposed peaks, they should have a great understanding with one another's game. So in 3 or so years time, this squad could be deadly on a European and domestic front.

I'm not sure what a title winning squad is but what I do know is that this year in terms of quality and depth we are as good as anybody. I feel we are probably a bit short of the very top in terms of strikers and fullbacks particularly left back. If we were to get a good lb and a second striker we would have a good chance imo.

We already have experience of having to produce under pressure and have passed with flying colours. We were let down by a poor start to the season but if you were to look at it from probably October onwards I don't think there would be many points between us and united.

Chelsea, city and utd have either stood still or added very little, they all have new managers, this is a good chance for us to get in the mix. If we were within 5 pts come march, who knows what might happen?

If we want CL football next year, avb needs to get the squad to believe that their aim is to win the league. Aiming for 4th will see us fail imo. He has to instill a belief on them that makes them go that extra mile in every game.

The other 5 clubs at the top will all be aiming for the title imo, although of course us, LPool and arse will be satisfied with 4th, very dangerous to just aim for that.

We need to start thinking like genuine title contenders to achieve our goals.

Although our performance was poor, I thought we had that attitude at the Emirates. We've never been there and looked to be comfortably dominating possession. It was weird and it felt like we were the team to beat and Arsenal were showing us a lot of respect. AVB has instilled a belief into us in these away games, another example is Chelsea last year with our relentless attacking in the second half. We were unlucky not to take all 3 points.

Yes.
We also need to stop thinking we are in a 2 team league with Arsenal.

6 points out of 9 would've been brilliant looking at the fixture list well before the season. So to have that and the team not even gelling yet is a good thing. Normally click into gear after the international break anyway, so Norwich are in for a good time at WHL! We get into a run of wins that we've done in the past and we can challenge and hopefully sustain well into March/April at least with the squad depth. Maybe not winning the title this year, but I would think within a few years.

I believe we will win it with a month to spare.

But it worries me. What do we do for that last month? No excitement in our fixtures given we've won the League and a month to wait for ITK discussion thread, maybe more.

Just really concerns me. Sorry, don't meant to dampen the mood.

are

are liverpool really twice as likely to win the league as us?
Not at all, odds aren't decided based solely on the probability of something happening. It's also down to how many people are putting how much on it. And with Liverpool top of the league having just beat the champions it's no surprise people are jumping to conclusions and putting money on them.
