PS: Having your grandad with you is a nice touch. I hope that is regular.

Friend of mine used to work at CVG and did Gamer Gran, which is still ace:

Crikey, our brethren over at the Fighting Cock weren't quite so accepting lol
https://www.thefightingcock.co.uk/forum/threads/onehotspur-tv.20969/
we have seen, in all honesty i appreciate constructive feedback and even if some of those comments are harsh, some valid points are made. they don't know our intentions and it is only one video so can't expect to get people on board straight away but we hope the more people get to know our channel then they will start to come around.

I think as long as you don't go down the route of AFTV (doing interviews outside the game when emotions are high) then you should be ok.

Take everything on there with a pinch of salt. I used to be a member and there are some really nice guys that post. I recognize some old faces over here too. That said it takes wrecking ball sized bollocks for anyone there to cite fan tv as being a potential embarrassment to our club when posts on there seem to be dredged up by our rivals constantly as reasons why our fanbase is so pathetic. Kim Jong-Un has a better grasp of diplomacy

To be honest, I didn't like it. I persevered out of politeness, but had to close the window as soon as one of you started chewing with his mouth open - grossed me out.

Not a bad effort lads. Nothing controversial there . More or less reflects all the mainstream views on here. Not a bad way to spend 10 minutes I will continue to watch as long as you dont turn it into an Arse tv replica. Its far more like the Spam one which isnt bad either.

Nice again but a couple of comments that are meant to be constructive as what you are doing and the effort you have gone to deserves some respect. Take them or leave them, just one opinion.

Editing is too jumpy. I'm sure your presenting skills will improve all the time and this will occur less as you string longer thoughts together but right now it's a bit like hangover flashbacks. You know the words, have an idea of the scenario but still trying to piece it all together at the end. As you seem quite tech savvy is it possible to break it up with a few info graphics or subject headings? Not exactly what you get when you're having a chat with a mate but we can all do that (or at least those of us with mates), you need to go the extra mile. Also, it's a bit familiar for someone who spends time on the forums. Nothing new to think about, we discussed this stuff all week. This is because I'm a loser who spends far too much time on here but so are a lot of your prospective viewers. Needs a decent USP. Don't ask me what though, that's your homework.

Other than that it nicely different from your car segment so the more variation the better. Early days but good work (y)

Great work!!! Really fresh approach!

Would have been very easy for someone to see the AFTV model and think "It's cringey but people flock to watch it and it's easy money" lot of respect for you guys, well done, keep it up!!

@simyid , applause you guys for the endeavour! Beginning steps are always the hardest, nonetheless if you can persevere, nothing is gonna stop you, especially if your intentions are correct.

A few comments for sharing on the 3 videos posted if you don't mind?

Technicalities:
Shaky cam issues have been talked about so I shall skip that. What caught me abit was the sound. The intro sound level is too high or rather not balanced in the entire video; it was too loud and then I turned in down, the content volume level became too soft. Watch the VU meter in your editing suite. Must always keep them balance yeah. And don't peak, especially can happen during captures on matches where the environment is overwhelming. Use compressor filter to keep the entire audio in range.

Need a proper mic for the different environment recording too. Lavaliers will be good for car shots (or were they in?), shotguns will be good for match shots so the noise from the stadium will be kept down and your vocals can be recorded clearer. I see you had lavaliers on for the 2nd and 3rd videos, great! Keep that up. Some EQ-ing may be needed too to improve on the overall sound quality further. Sorry if I keep picking on audio quality, because it is one very critical component overlooked in separating a good video from a great video.

I thought it may be good putting in some footage of the actual match I thought so viewers are not looking a sequence of scoreline updates? I was looking at some others vlog which captured more of my attention in looking from a perspective of the fans in the stadium as compared from the TV.

More B-rolls to edit in so viewers are not watching a consistent angle for more than 10-15 seconds. These cutaways can be edited into the 2nd and 3rd videos especially so viewers are not watching talking heads for the full 3 minutes. Some highlights from previous games can be inserted to bring across your point for certain tactical or player views for the coming games as well. Having a 2nd cam from another angle (or some close ups) for the 2nd and 3rd video will be good too.

Infographics can make the videos interesting too which I think some mentioned? Or was that from the fighting cock. By the way, your logo is nice! Graphic treatment and opening sequence is good!
so

Can consider putting in subtitles if a wider global audience is targeted. While English can be understood, sometimes certain accent, slang, or quick speech may not be heard by us who are not British. Certain British humours, if engaged, will also be more easily understood with subtitles/captions of sort. ;)

Content:
Car shots are good start of your channel. However, agree very much of @Dougal comment of USP. There is not yet a thing in the videos what others cannot do. To stand out, your contents need alot of high quality and unique materials. Talking about games and cheering on the match is not enough. Take away your visuals, the remaining soundtrack can be also a podcast. You get what I mean yeah? Your content has to be of a considerable value for viewers to take away. This is really from you; to create those contents unique to One Hotspur TV. There is definitely many brainstorming sessions you will need to go through. It will take time, especially for that personality to come. Keep it mind it will take time. So don't feel discouraged or disheartened even though we said the contents right now is not there yet. Just don't stop.

Taking a leaf out of AFTV, while everybody is thinking that is a joke, they do have entertainment value. I am not sure if there are other clubs fan TV doing the way they do, but kudos to them, they dare to do it and created value for almost any soccer fans in watching, be it just for laughs, or crying/swearing/celebrating with them. We feel their emotions in the videos, which we can't get that in any other media, articles or reports. Take away their visuals, are we able to feel their emotions through just sound? Look at how Robbie had specifically and drastically different types of interviewees in his videos. From their attire, their language choices, their ages, sometimes even their races; diverse! That is their value. I think no one wants you going down their way of entertainment, but they are definitely a good and IMO successful channel to look to and understand.

Right now so far these are what I thought are helpful to you I hope! I also hope you do not take any offence in my comments, as I sincerely wish to help in my capacity from my experience in this field, all for the same intention to enjoy greater media contents for our favourite club! Keep it up yeah! Good job! (y)
