Can't help but feel United's quality on the pitch will prevail and scrape a victory... Would be fantastic if they didn't they would potentially be 7/8 points off of the leading pack (which could include us). Doesn't mean much this early in the season but would mean they were playing catch up under pressure.

On another note, a team like Burnley annoy me. They have a good manager and system but somehow think they can get away with spending fuck all when coming up and just pocketing the extra revenue? If I was a fan I'd be more than frustrated, it's so easy to get trapped in the championship after relegation... Just look at Derby, Forest etc.
You have to really seize these opportunities to cement yourself in the divison when they come along, I'm not suggesting do a Leeds but a bit of smart investment wouldn't go a miss.

If they opened up the cheque book and added a bit of quality to complement their core team and system, they would be far more likely to not fall short when dominating games.
I direct you to this mate, I saw this on the liverpool forum and was shocked a scouser had the intelligence to post to this(even if they copied it:D)

To be 7 points off the target of 90 points is insane by match 3(which works out to win all 19 home matches and seven easiest away matches and draw the rest). Especially considering by this model, they should of been the must win matches

Cheers for posting this, really does spell out the repercussions of this slow start for United

If they fail then they have to totally scrap their squad and rebuild or face financial ruin. QPR last year made something like a £60m loss. If it wasn't for Fernandez and being lucky coming back up that would be them fucked. For Burnley that would be the end.

Those situations, are different mate, Derby and Forest situations were both different and like Blackpool the owners were taking money from the club. forest are still in financial trouble despite the owners claiming a world record stadium naming deal of £50m a year.

Burnley will have no debt if they go down as they will be guaranteed £140m or more. I agree with your point though but from their pov this time they will have more money than ever to come straight up hence the championship signings whilst in the PL. Though they piss me off for the same reason as Derby would of spent a fair few quid.

Worth noting that alot of the clubs coming up are still in debt from the ITV Digital days

I've never understood this either. I guess the issue is just wages rather than transfer fees.

Even if you get relegated you still have the quality players on your books to sell if need be, so if you invest in young players on relatively low wages who'll have sell on value and will still appeal to other clubs you'll be fine either way.

Not sure why LVG is persisting with 352 when they blatantly don't have the players for it. They should still have enough to get through this game but I don't see them being successful at all with this system and personnel.

Tbf this is doing wonders for Moyes. Looking like a better manager every day.

Do Maria I think will turn out to be a great signing for Utd, will take a little time to adjust but has already shown some exciting glimpses of his talent. Utd are playing awfully tho and Burnley will be going down.

Worth noting before clubs wouldnt get enough money to pay off their debts, this time they have enough to pay it off and reinvest to come up and be debt free and use the £70m

Di Maria taken a knock. He has looked good on his debut. The one decent performance from Utd. They do not look good.

How is that not a yellow for di maria. Faking an injury for rest = cheating.

We should save mata from his misery. This system sucks for him.
