The way he breezers past players is immense. To be able to run at full tilt for as long as he does, and with the ball in total control at his feet is truly rare. To do all this with a monkey's head, unheard of.

don't see tevez tearing down the wing all match. and keown...don't make me laugh

I agree with everything written above! Superb athlete and doesn't hide on the pitch. Long may it continue.

Bale will be world class.

Him and Modric down the left is the future. Be fantastic once they futher their understanding.

Glad he is shutting up all the mugs that doubted him.

Now show your faces. You know who you are.:)

Agreed, fantastic performance again. He is more attacking than Benny, although I'm not slating Benny!!
I do slightly prefer Bale though for his ability to penetrate, and I love his monkey head, only an Afro would hide those ears!!

Well done Bale!

Bale is proving what I've been saying all along ever since we signed him, he's great for Wales. So proud of him hope he continues to do well for us. COYS

It'll give those that believe we urgently need a new left back something to reconsider, that's for sure. I've said all along that BAE and Bale have that position sewn up between them...

I worry about injuries every time he is tackled but he has looked awesome recently.

Keep up the good work Gareth ; watch out BAE

Indeed. :hump:

Will DC_Boy turn up in this thread to say that he might have been wrong about Bale, as he does love creating threads (http://www.spurscommunity.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=56465) where he invites other people to admit the errors of their previously stated opinions...?

Thank god for that!!

Dont worry about injuries too much, he has bulked up big time.

The boy should be a left winger/midfielder. He has been awesome recently going forward. Ok at the back lately, but him and benny could be a fearsome left side for us to mix it up a bit and rotate.

Great performance. Perfect left back to have when teams come to the Lane for a point. Him and Modric can become a great partnership with Bale attacking the space Modric leaves when he cuts inside. Bale's defending will get better, he's good in the air and still very young & learning the game. Could be our left back for a number of years to come.

Bale was fantastic. I don't think however long term he is a left side midfielder. He is a left back. He doesn't have enough explosive acceleration to beat a player from a standing start, rather his best runs are where he builds momentum from the back.

What do others think?

I see what you mean, he is great at that, running with pace, but he has great trickery and change of direction too, and beats players from a static start. He looks tahe sharpest, quickest player in the side at the minute, and seems to be able to do it 15-20 times a game.

I agree with this. He's a left-back all day for me, and only really an emergency left-winger in the same way that Hutton is a right-winger or Hudd is a central defender.

If I could write the above again, I definitely would use the term "jiggery pokery" he has lots of that.

Bale's a left back. Needs the left mid to create space for him to run into. Massive potential, hope Harry gives him the opportunity to show it at spurs.

Excellent game from Bale.
Oh, where are all those that wanted Bale out not long ago...?
Wondering if Ekotto can play LMF. He seem to have the technique, pace and work rate to do so.

Wasnt this curse broken ages ago?

Or is this the first game we have won when he has started...he has definetly been on the pitch when we have won a EPL game.
