For the last 3 or 4 seasons we've always been one player away from breaking into the top 3 or 4 on a regular basis

Either that's Levy's fault or we simply don't have the money to buy that extra player

I have no idea which one it is

Yea it's been frustrating, after this summer we've really set ourselves back though.

can we get champions league with that.. maybe people at spurs think that , in fact, they do i think.. they seem to know fuck all else but like i say a million times on here.. its all about the money with those in power at spurs.. if we have a team that is going well all the better to build it up into a monster before it falls on its arse a while later.

I think there was a hint of sarcasm in the original post...

Totally agree. A lot of people on this forum think Levy is untouchable and shouldn't be given any criticism. He has taken us two steps back
Instead of forward.
Can't agree more mate. He as been selling the family's silver year in year out. It is like one season we are nearly there to be followed by another season of has beens. We are fed up of this attitude. As I see it and sorry to say this we need to get rid and get new investors - with apologies to Mr D.

He has done a pretty good job compared to all the other teams with not enough money.
He will never be able to compete with those that have enough resources to win the league.
We just do not have the capital to compete at the top.

There will come a time when instead of all our managers carrying the can mr levy will for once have to be accountable at the moment his bollocks are on the line for avb considering where we finished and Harry's popularity.

Okay, others have tried and failed...but I am open to persuasion: If you can produce a viable and well-argued explanation, preferably supported by evidence, that Mr levy somehow convinced Porto to play along with a story that they had named a price, he accepted it, they raised the price and he accepted again, and then convinced Porto, the FA, and the entire media-World (who would jump a the chance of an anti-Levy/AVB/Spurs story, to play along with an embellishment where the deal fell through because Porto submitted faulty paper-work, I will stop being strung-along and begin believing in this conspiracy theory like you (y)

Really your never going to be able to prove what,we did with Porto one way or the other,Munnthio was our main target main target all summer and the deal should have been sorted before the transfer window ended thats his job.
If you look at the deal with Vertonghen,Ajax played hardball with us,(One one my friends is the fans represntive on the board with Ajax and and they expected a certain price) and the deal was done.

He's proven that he is clueless by taking us from mid-table to CL competition while developing a state-of-the-art training facility, beginning work on a new stadium, revamping the youth set-up and producing an exciting young squad, with an exciting young youth-squad behind them, and innovative and exciting strategic club partnerships...without getting us in debt = the IDIOT!

I think, Levy a great chairman. We have been paying CL prices for Eufa cup football.
Having a state of the ART training facility, will it really take our players to the next level ,was the old training ground that bad.
As for the stadium, im not interested in a world class sainsburys, i personally think Enic won’t build the stadium.
Strategic partnership make me laugh, what it really means is a big club takes advantage of a smaller one.
I started going spurs in the early 80s and what a lot of people have forgotten, is how big this club actually is,
We are a giant of English football, the great clubs of English football are Man utd, Liverpool, Arsenal and spurs. Chelsea and City have money but no real fan base.
We had 9 mangers since Enic been in charge,Jol and much as I hate to say it Redknapp have been a success but the transfer windows have been disasters.
For me we are at the level, where we should be, but I want us to do better.

You whole theory falls down on the refuse or don't build on it - it is just that you don't think we are building on it fast enough and point-blank refuse to see how we are building on it via our youth policy.

We have players now who will get us there immediately with investment - the type of investment that requires us to shell out £200,000 per week wages. But...we can't pay those wages, those players probably wouldn't come to us even if we did, and we can't sustain a team like that even if they won things - that is the sad truth. Our only hope is to be smarter than our opponents, and that takes time - which is the one thing you totally refuse to give.

It looks like we have used the money ball system replacing VDV and Modric for Dempsey and Sigurdssonn. In January, getting in Nelson and Saha was a disaster,we saved wages on Pav,etc but we could have got third place.
Saving a 750k could have cost us 40 million.
As for youth policies, apart from the utd\Ajax teams most top sides struggle to produce players.

I challenge you and all of the nay-sayers to say nothing negative, nothing...for the rest of this season and the whole of the next, but to just, y'know, do something radical like rain or shine support the team, the head coach and the chairman, and then see where we are (though, I suspect, that even if we won the EPL/CL double there are plenty on here who would still bitch and moan)

I use to be a fan, but the club want a customer, Spurs can a put a sixteen year season ticket up £500 pounds and then Steal my loyalty points.Football a expensive hobby now,it cost me £127 for two tickets a day off work, travelling, etc and we got hulimated.
So as a customer,im voicing my opinion and ive been uphappy with the product on show since January.

Graysonti wants to support a team on Fantasy Island :barefoot:

A 3 foot 6 GS runs across golden sands, pointing at Cristiano Ronaldo and shouting The £80 million signings, Boss, the £80 million signings :ROFLMAO:

Even at 2-0 we never would have been dominating the old habits would have come back like folding up and conceding goals.

Could you explain how you know this without resorting to tautology?

He spent £45M, which is by no means small fry. The problem being is that we spanked £15M on two absolute duds in Siguardsson and Dempsey. I doubt whether even Levy thought they would be so shite. The purchases of Dembele, Lloris and Vertonghen are good, but the issue is losing Modric, VDV and King, which is very difficult to absorb for any club irrespective of cash available to find replacements.

avb probably took the job on the proviso that modric and vdv money = moutinho and willian/oscar. he got neither, we're suffering for it and it will be avb who takes the fall. rinse and repeat.

Had to look into this cool new shiny word SP used.

Tautogy - 'True by definition, literally "saying the same". Pointlessly obvious. Additional words that add no meaning'.

Sounds like typical Spurs Chat then. (y)

So pushing Mouts over the line is fantasy ......... Righto.

Not purchasing cheap shite lie Dempsey and putting that to Mouts would have been a start.

I'm sorry, but this club is going nowhere - it gives me no pleasure to say that
