If that isn't a "I want to move to London" then I don't know what is.

Sneijder's Mrs wouldn't want to live in bloody Istanbul I'm sure.

Istanbul is a magnificent city with a different lifestyle to Milan but they could still live the high life there.

Istanbul is a fantastic city actually. Great food, culture and nightlife. But, yeah, sure a WAG would be drawn to the bright lights of Movida, Funky Buddha and alike...
It's no London though, and the Turkish League is no Premier League. I would imagine Sneijder and his misses talk some English already too, having to learn a whole new language (Turkish) could be a serious pain in the arse.

Still really would love this signing to happen. Something special about having this type of player at the lane.

It seems that since the rumours have started alot of people have been trying to talk themselves out of wanting Sneijder but I have always loved him and never thought it would be possible that he might play for us so I'm keeping hope until its no longer possible!

Wasn't comparing the leagues, just the cities.

I would imagine WS speaks English very well already. Most Dutch do. I used to work in a London based language school for rich adults (mostly banking, insurance & rich daddies etc) maintaining a Unix & Novell Netware network. There were never any Dutch students at that school. It was explained to me that Dutch people by and large take pride in learning English not so much because they like us but because it's a poke in the eye to Germany.

I won't lie, it was the most fun job I ever had. Outside of the computing work I was also paid OT to take students out drinking & playing footie down Hyde park. There was a constant stream of girls from around the world for me. Being native & good looking ha! of course they wanted to practice their English language & kissing skills on me ;) I have some real good stories about that school including shagging several girls on the roof & whatnot. Fun times!

Slightly off topic, but who cares. Tell us more ;)

Sounds like the best 'off topic' topic ever...

maaannnn. Ok........ Your right!

Personally i feel WS would be perfect for us. Although, as widely reported, he hasnt done much since being frozen out so general fitness, and match fitness could take a while. Possibly looking at middle of March for a full starting berth. HOWEVER, i still want him!!!!!! he is a SOUP-A-STAR! Rafa Mk2.....

Liverpool step up Sneijder pursuit as Inter star stalls on Galatasaray move - Goal.com

EXCLUSIVE
By Greg Stobart

Liverpool are set to ramp up their efforts to sign Inter star Wesley Sneijder as the Dutch playmaker continues to stall on a transfer to Galatasaray, Goal.com understands.
"A number of meetings are scheduled in the next 24 hours but there is serious interest from Liverpool and Wesley would like to see if they follow that through," a source close to the deal told Goal.com. "This is a big decision at this moment in his career from a football and personal perspective."

The Reds held talks with Sneijder's representatives on Monday, which have been described as "constructive", as they look to make use of the wages freed up by the departures of high-earners

Hello one and all,

Thought i would make my first post regarding a player i think we should really invest in. I am quite surprised how many people seem to be reserved over this potential transfer. There seems to be a lot of concern over his match fitness due primarily to his lack of first team appearances this season. Although i understand this point i would doubt that a player of his quality and age, 27 -30 is the golden age for central attacking midfielders, would just sit back and let his fitness slide. I admit that he may have lost some of his sharpness but this can be quickly regained especially in a league such as ours which has such a high intensity and match fixtures. Also his seeming unwillingness to go to the Turkish league can only equate to his belief that he still has greatness in him and that is exactly what we need in our team, especially in the final third. His performances for the truly horrific Holland team in the euros, along with VDV, seemed to have real bite even when everyone around him looked all to lost. The other big stumbling block is of course wages but everywhere i read there seams to be quotes or jurno's saying that he is willing to come down from his astronomical wage demands at Inter. This may or may not be true, i personally think his actions regarding Gala point firmly to the forma.

All in all i think it would be a great signing for the club.... will it happen.... no... but thats just the way it goes.

WS is not the first player we decide not to go for and he certainly wont be the last. A pity but we should all know by now...

LEVY DONT DO JANUARIES INNIT (Fryers and Hotby where probably signed behind his back.... shhhh dont say anything to anyone or they might vanish in a cloud of head wax)

anyway... hello.
