he has winning mentality. Sign him up!
If that's all one needs then I believe Lance Armstrong is free.

I really don't want Liverpool to land him, expensive as he is, he is a real talent and could well propel them up the league that being said, I cannot see them affording him at all.

WS as back up in our plans, probably means we want Moutinho and maybe Llorente and if we cannot get those deals to work, then we might spend the money on WS, but that is straw clutching on my part.

Wesley may well lower his salary demands for a CL club or someone like us and if Inter lower their asking price, we could well make up the difference in salary in signing on fees, bonuses etc. I would be very inclined to put a lot in bonuses if Wesley would accept, due to his relative fitness and match sharpness levels likely being a little rusty at present.

Still don't think we will sign him, bu this is definitely an interesting saga... but please not to Liverpool!

My Journo mate just told me LFC and Utd are in negotiations currently, with Spurs and Arsenal also interested but haven't made offers yet.

Its the wages thats a huge stumbling block I'm told as its much more complicated than its being reported in the press, and not just a case of him wanting a massive weekly wage. This is exacerbated by the tax rates here in the UK as his Reps demands are all in Net pay after tax. Also told this had something to do with us getting rid of Sahin early.

No idea yet how this'll turn out due to his demands.

Surprisingly Goal.com have had this spot on from the off and should be more on this in the papers over the weekend. If your interested keep an eye on The Times or less so The Guardian.

If I hear any more on this in regards to Spurs I'll post it here.

We ain't going to pay the money he wants and this should now have a line drawn under it. There are other clubs who may or foolishly might cough up the cash, but it won't be us.

Far too rich for our taste I think. Would you be happy with him? Dismissing his qualties etc but more his fitness and wages etc. Good to see you haven't abandoned all hope on here anyway.

Via Twitter - Sky Italy are saying Liverpool bid for Coutinho and not Sneijder.

I think the Liverpool reports are just like the earlier Gala ones, Inter are trying to force our hand. I still don't think we'll get him though.

I personally think that he'd choose Utd over us, but us over Liverpool and The Arse.. man Utd are obviously faves, but I'd put us second as I'm sure he would've spoken to Rafa, and I get the feeling those two have a love hate relationship.

This is my conclusion after two bottles of red, but right now I'm totally convinced this is the case.

My only objection to this deal going through is the fact that we are struggling/will struggle to match his wage demands, when both Belhanda and Isco could be had for about half his wages. Now I know transfer fee's would also be taken into account but If it were my money being spent I'd personally rather have Belhanda over Sneijder simply because his wage demands wouldn't be anywhere near as high but they are both quality players in their positions.

I know this might sound stupid, but i'm not overly fussed where WS goes if i'm honest. The guy is a great player, we all know that. BUt his motivation is purely money. It's not like the Rafa deal where he just wanted to play football and find a home again. Real Madrid initially priced Rafa out of the market by slapping an 18m? price tag on his head which scared off us and Bayern. They then lowered the price and we sneaked in and got him for a steal.

The only one who seems to be pricing Wesley out of the market is Wesley himself, so because of thata would he really be going anywhere for the right reasons? Would he give his all to a club because of this, like Rafa did? I'm not so sure.

But obviously if he did turn up magically on the 31st and gives us what Rafa did then I will hold my hands up and say I was wrong.

It just doesn't sit right with me.

Agreed, I'm sure Fergie would sign him up if his wage demands weren't huge. If he'd rather take the money in Turkey, then he lacks ambition and is motivated purely by money, not the kind of person we want at the club.

The Galatasaray's offer was something around the 100k mark. We can do that.
Isco is now out of our reach. He won't leave now as Malaga are in a good run in the CL, and apparently in june it's guardiola's first choice for Bayern.
Belhanda is nowhere near as good as Sneijder

0wners arrived today (might just be one of them as only seen Werner here so I reckon the big boss, John Henry, has bottled it).

Here for talks on Sneidjer and other targets, and because of a lot of in-fighting over players to go after. Rodgers wants experience in shape of Sneidjer, but Ayre and FSG want youth that have high sell on value so reluctant. Senior players have made it clear they back BR's PoV, so something has to give, hence owners over here.

I'll keep asking about any further Spurs interest etc and post anything of interest I'm told.

Damn. Eerily similar then. Still, I suppose there has always been tensions between managers/coaches and the money men. Nothing new in that.

Why would wes go to Liverpool?! Ridiculous that he would even contemplate it. He's too good for us let alone them!
