Plus, not that we will win the league but West Ham beat us and city and Liverpool at home last season. So that’s no barometer for people saying if you wanna win the league you win there. Honestly think we have had the toughest start to the season bar any this year. Agreed though the next three games will gives us an idea where we are. Ending at the library. Let’s hold on to our knickers till then. Unbeaten away so far at our worst places with a better run after Xmas.

IMHO, a creative player like Maddison to spread the ball around solves the impossible of signing these world class players. Our CBs can remain as defenders, our WBs can remain as sprinters, our CMs can remain as protectors.
Okay, 343... fit maddison in there. You dropping PEH? Bentancur? Or one of Kulu or sonny? Maddison is a 3 man midfielder, he isn't the answer in a 2man. Good signing if AC is going to be more flexible formation wise tho.

Southampton aside, we’ve not strung together a single good, entertaining performance.
That's your interpretation. I was happy with the way we played against Forest.

I think we have had a difficult start to the season. Every team we've played bar 1 caused us serious problems last year, so to come through with 11 points is impressive.

We are still finding our rhythm. Of course i have some concerns but you just seem desperate to spin everything into a negative.

Perisic is a star player and look what that meant to the team. He instantly transforms us.. Such quality makes a huge difference.

We need such players and not half-baked ones. Slightly over 24 hours to pull some star rabbits out of the hat.. Please. Just one for a maestro kind of midfielder.

He had a really good game, starting to gel.

However I have been disappointed with Davies so far this season.

My biggest concern about tonight was that this wasn’t a case of WH playing out of their skin because it was us. They looked poor and absolutely there for the taking but we just completely crumbled. Mentally we were a mess.

Aside from that I’m really worried our depth in certain positions, the moment injuries start hitting and games start building up we could look very poor especially up front. We also really really going to need to get Lenglet up to speed asap because we can’t be in a position where one injury to Romero completely puts an end to our attacking dynamism.

Thought bissouma got better as the 2nd half went on. The main problem for us was Davinson being poor in possession and struggling to beat the press. Son was pretty anonymous as well. We need a plan B formation.
So you didn't think Lloris put the whole defence under pressure with his passing/kicking out from the back.

Our 2 man midfield seems to be being overrun every game.

The passing from our "back 5" peresic aside is very poor. Sick looking at diers aimless punts over the top to no one. Sick watching Sanchez looking like he is terrified when he has the ball at his feet and any form of pressure is exerted, not helped by Royals lack of ability going forward.
Yes they are much improved defensively, but going the other way it's painful and is putting the two in the middle under increased pressure also.
Contes team depends so much from the wing backs and a ball playing centre half and the only one who ticks the box tonight in that dept is Peresic, one out of 5, simply won't be good enough against the better teams.
All the above made worse as it was west ham and they will see this draw as a cup win, hate giving them anything.
Totally agree

Do you think people are unhappy with our points total or even the fact we got a point tonight?

Unless I’m reading the room completely wrong, people are upset and concerned about our performances. Southampton aside, we’ve not strung together a single good, entertaining performance. It’s very counter and hoof ball. We look awful and people have every right to be worried about to vent here.

We have City and Arsenal away coming up soon and unless things improve, we are going to get embarrassed.
I think a lot of people are sensing early 21/22 vibes. We played poorly first three games there but had 9 points then it all fell apart. I don't honestly think we're in that ball-park this season but there is some justification for the jitteryness. If we don't pick up three points this weekend with City and Arsenal both away the next two games then we could be looking at 1 or 2 points from 12.

We're a long way from the Nuno/Mourinho depression, but I think more could be done to raise the quality. If that happens the fan base are ready to really get behind them.

We are definitely not second best team in the league. Still a significant gap to Liverpool
Not sure about Liverpool this season. Not the same team without Mane. Very lucky to get a late win tonight, and their midfield of Henderson and Fabinho is no stronger than bentancur and Hojberg. Will be interesting to see, but we are a lot closer to Liverpool this season.

We need to go large on a James Maddison type of player in the next 24.5 hours. We should have had this done weeks ago. We don’t work on a huge transfer budget so I don’t see how we can justify a spend of 40m on Spence and Udogie who are obviously nowhere near first team ready. And every player we are linked with these days seems to be another bloody wing back!!

Would half the bed wetting that’s going on at the minute be as bad if it wasn’t arsenal who are top of the league? If we were 3rd behind city and Liverpool I think people would be much calmer. They’re elevated position is causing chaos in our fan base!

that’s not me saying we’re playing great, just that maybe we’re all overreacting a bit.

That’s your opinion. Personally I find it mind boggling you thought we played well against Forest.

You just seem desperate to spin everything into a positive, imo.

I have finally come to the conclusion that most people on here won't be happy unless we win every game playing everybody off the park in the hardest league in the World.

P.S £50m Paqueta weren't all that.

It seems at this point it’s either transition or set pieces that are what allows us to score goals, at least without Romero. He is crucial to balancing out the build up. Or just inject more pace into the buildup, like vs Saints. One (ideally the second as it’s more sustainable regardless of personnel) or both must return.
