@noggin, why the wtf? You seriously can't tell me you saw a completely different game to me?
Wtf for your ‘I am out’. Football isn’t 95% possession, 30 shots on goal, 5-0 wins every time. Grow some balls and support your club also when not winning.

and yes, we were bad tonight but it’s not all doom and gloom just ‘cause of some poor performances.

Plus, not that we will win the league but West Ham beat us and city and Liverpool at home last season. So that’s no barometer for people saying if you wanna win the league you win there. Honestly think we have had the toughest start to the season bar any this year. Agreed though the next three games will gives us an idea where we are. Ending at the library. Let’s hold on to our knickers till then. Unbeaten away so far at our worst places with a better run after Xmas.
RE the tough start, I think Scott Parker might disagree

PEH was injured by the horrible Rice tackle, game changed after that.

If Bentancur or Skipp were fit he would have come off. It then hurt Bissouma who was scared to get tight after his yellow and it also meant the midfield didn’t have the option through the middle (which Bentancur normally provides)

I can’t believe so many of you don’t think we totally controlled that first half and we’re starting to do the same until it was clear PEH wasn’t fit enough

We lost control there and couldn’t really get it back. Their press started working more because we didn’t have the middle

It’s also ANOTHER point on last season, we struggle against these teams for a reason. Apart from Southampton and maybe Forest they are all set up to negate us. We will click, we are obviously focusing on being tight, it’ll come. We looked like a top side in the first half, it’ll come boys

Unless Romero stays fit throughout the season, I think we are going to struggle to get that 4th spot. When we are playing with our setup I believe we need players who are much better on the ball than the back five who played today. Perisic is better than the rest, but you can clearly see that Dier, Davies and Royal are completely dependent on the calmness of Romero to keep their composure in pressed situations. Together with Sanchez and Lloris (who are the least capable on the ball imo) they keep putting each other in awkward situations which makes all of them look worse than they do when playing with someone with real ability on the ball. In addition our counter attacking game suffers a lot from the inability to start our attacks in a good manner.

Trying hard not to be too reactive after a poor game, but there has been tendencies in many other games. I feel our defenders poor ability on the ball will be a real problem for us, unless Lenglet hits the ground running, but it’s a bit early to tell how that will pan out. My fear is that our strong finish without Romero in the team last season may have covered up some areas where we definitely need to improve, if we are to compete for the top positions.

I know the window isn’t closed yet, so there’s still hope, but I really feel we need someone at the back if the injury record of Romero keeps up.

Do you not think that the movement in front of them is poor? I agree their passing isnt the best but im a big believer that the movement makes the pass, if players arent moving into space etc and are stationary then how do we expect them to pass to those players with men on them?

yes of the course they do, I just think the reactions are being amplified by arsenals current false position. There is reason for concern and plenty of room for criticism but some of its just pathetic.

how are arsenal in a false position?

Why is Conte so damn unflexible and so reluctant to make changes, even if its not working?

Not sure where we are heading too. Results are fine so far at least.

You have to enjoy it a bit too? What game have you enjoyed the football this season? Or this year?

We were poor again, although arguably better than previous games. Despite being unbeaten we don’t look convincing at all. For all our transfer activity, we look worse than we did last year and have few options to change things up. Lots of like-for-like options but Richy aside, we seem to be stuck playing this way for the rest of the season,

I’m not hopeful we’ll get much better anytime soon, though I live in hope. We’re miles off City and, dare I say it, Arsenal right now,. Average teams drag us down to their level and we don’t seem to have any fluidity. But it’s encouraging we’re not losing. That will keep us in the thick of it until we can, hopefully, find some new approaches and improve.

In Conte I trust, but I am a little concerned with the lack of creativity from those not named Kane or Kulu.

The problem is the CB's are not fast enough on the ball. It's predictable and sluggish and whilst we obviously want to invite pressure, the passing between Sanchez, Dier, Hugo and Davies is just not snappy enough. THen to boot it long and lose the second ball, it's all very meh and people have a right to criticise our performances right now.

Yes, the results are fine, but I do think we are in desperate need fo another CB and hope Romero is back ASAP so we can habe some forward movement from a CB.
I think by the second part of the season we'll see Lenglet, Romero and Spence all in that back line and we'll look much better.

Emerson was actually fine tonight, could be better but Sanchez does not suit Conte's system and Davies has limitations so it's costing us against teams that sit back.

Still, we've gone away to WH and Chelsea and taken 2 points

we are utter shit imo, moyes beat conte tactically. all you have to do is push players onto dier and davies and let them give sanchez the ball. sanchez is miles away from good enough and totally unsuited to the system we are playing. conte had a dreadful game, should have subbed either bissouma or PEH at half time, neither could get around the pitch, bissouma was scared of making a challenge, which was totally his own fault, kulu was probably our best player 2nd half and he took him off to leave on the totally useless son.
Perfect analysis.

Probably an unpopular opinion, but we are not a top 4 side right now.

We will get there, I’m sure, but we don’t look the part at the moment.

11 points more than we picked up last season if you say Forest replace Burnley (which I realise is a rose tinted support of the argument). I’ll take that.

This year? Really? ?
I find quite some enjoyment in my club winning games. Good ones and scrappy ones. They all matter.

They couldn't have hand picked a better set of starting fixtures if they tried, I would expect them to win them all on paper. We on the other hand have had 2 away derbies at 2 of our bitterest rivals, where its a cup final for them.

One person who seems to be avoiding criticism is lloris. His poor distribution cost us the equaliser. Wayward pass for the throw in.

He kept playing sanchez into trouble.

I know it’s bonkers…lloris had an absolute shocker IMO, yes sanchez isn’t the best on the ball but he didn’t stand a chance at times
