Would love to start the season off with a win, particularly against the Spammers for slaughtering us three time last season which is still a bitter pill to swallow.
Therefore, and in order to hedge my bets, I've booked for this Saturday a 7am appointment with the local Mayan witch doctor in Chichicastenango, take round a couple of sacrificial chicken and a gallon of the local moonshine for his hocus-pocus ritual, bless my lucky stars, keep my fingers crossed and wear all my charmed Spurs paraphernalia and know that a win is on its way.

I can't remember going into a season with so little idea of what the team will be.

We can assume that Loris, Verts, Naughton and Eriksson will definitely play but only guess the other seven.

I think it's pretty safe to say Lamela is going to be in that starting lineup, no reason he shouldn't be. Verts I have concerns about, we don't really know the state of his fitness level or that injury he was left with after the WC. I certainly hope we see him out there.

This will be the most interesting part of seeing the team sheet on Saturday - the midfield pairing.

I think it will be very close to that but depending on fitness to vertonghen maybe dier starting and I can see holtby start in place of bentaleb.
