I thought it was due to some pre-season going AWOL shenanigans. And then the quenelle, and then the attitude.

The funny thing is, I genuinely think he was one of the few players of recent years who actually gave a fuck about Spurs. That said he was infuriatingly to watch when he was being particularly laissez faire.

At his best he was pretty good, but isnt that the same of any player.. at their best.

It's a shame really, I remember under 'arry when he was one of the best left backs in the league.

I also remember articles showing how he visits a local Tottenham barber shop and how he responded after the Tottenham riots.

People on here have short memories sometimes.

I think in the middle of the pitch he was quite a cool customer, but I don't think he was a very good defender and I don't think he contributed much going forward either. He did improve over the time he was with us, but I don't think he was a better LB overall than Rose or Davies, and neither of them are world beaters either.

Come on! Not better than rose or Davies? He had 2 real weaknesses; the occasional screw up, and not getting close enough to stop crosses. Outside of that he was solid. A good passer, aggressive, quick, calm and got forward. For at least one season the only better left back in the league was evra.

Yp Lee was better than rose or Davies for goodness sake!
