I lived on Holmesdale rd for a few years and loved catching Palace games. Saw them in Champ & Prem. I like the team so hope they lose to us but come good afterwards. Also great to have banter with my Palace mates, they're a good bunch

That is true, and hopefully Newcastle will already be in holiday mode.

On the flip side, I fully expected Chelsea to be well on their way back to becoming a force again and we haven't won at Stamford Bridge for 26 years. I haven't watched them under Hiddink, so don't know if they park the bus still but they certainly have the players to do so and despite probably being mid table still then, they will be playing for pride still, especially against us.

Man Utd seem to be efficient against the teams above them, only losing to Arsenal and we are yet to beat them under LVG. They can be really organised in defence, hard to break down and have a top GK, so that will be just as difficult as the bus parkers IMO.

We have only won at Anfield 4 times in 69 league games (the last being 2011), so it's still a tough place to go and we have struggled against Liverpool in recent years. I really hope Sturridge is injured for that game (odds are in out favor on that one).

Something I don't think we will need to worry about, but worth keeping in mind, is that if we do well in the FA Cup & EL and make the final in both comps, that will add 7 games (doubling the amount of games we need to play) in April & May.

IMO, we need to be quite a few points, possibly as many as 9, ahead of 5th place going into the Liverpool game.

With all that being said though, this has to be the most unpredictable season I have ever known, but being a Spurs fan and experiencing what I have, I will always look on things with a slight pessimism.

Yeah we'd ideally like a healthy enough cushion before April comes around. No matter how erratic Liverpool are at any given time its still a very difficult away game.

The game against United has 0-0 written all over it.

Its the Chelsea game I find really intriguing - sort of excited about it for just about the first time ever, largely because I know we're simply a better team than them this season.

Yes, they seem to be a decent bunch. I really like them because of their fans. Too bad they appointed pardew as manager. Cant stand the man. Fucking wanker

I really don't have much against Palace (Not sure how you could?). I also get a huge kick out of watching Bolasie run around, look great for 3/4 of the pitch and then totally fuck everything up in the end. Quality entertainment.

have always had a soft spot for them since the days of Peter Taylor

we got Peter, Peter Taylor on the wing, on the wing (those were the days when only the West Stand was quiet)

Palace are my dad's team, so always a bit of friendly family rivalry for this one and I spent a lot of time at Selhurst as a kid (closer and much, much cheaper!).

Great club, fans who've been through it all with a sense of humour, and their chairman is a top bloke too. They even have their own beer brewed by a local brewer, haha.

Still, fingers crossed for a 3-0 Spurs win later!

Did we not get a huge amount of stick for celebrating the win against watford ? Liverlol, the greatest team to have ever existed have just beaten the might that is norwich and celebrated like they just won the champions league 86 times in a row and almost let Klopp crowd surf on them. Bet nothing is mentioned.

On that same thread a few Gooners were saying that it was poor keeping on the Alli goal and that the take and turn was good but the shot wasn't and the keeper should have saved it. Honestly, that lot.

This from Red Cafe:

What a fecking goal

I wish we had midfielders like him.

What a player.
Why the f*ck didn't we sign him when he tore our team to shreds when he was playing for MK Dons?!
Yet we're happy to spend £31 million on a player that flops like a fish for when trying a backpass. Unbelievable.
Anyway, I'm just angry in general today.

Goal of the season.. feck me, that is the type of goal you dream about as a kid .

Jesus

He's very strong in the tackle, but for me.. he's bit like Pogba in that he isn't really a proper CM.. he doesn't really dictate games and floats around, bit like a technically gifted super powered Frank Lampard. Still a great player to have in your side but he needs to develop the playmaking side of his game. For me he is more intelligent than someone like Barkley but has less drive/ability to link up play than Barkley.. as he is just a more languid character in general. It makes him composed as feck though in front of goal which is the upside.
If he can improve his passing/movement in the midfield zone, work on wanting to control games as well as win them.. he will be world class. Either way, he is destined to be a top player who will feature in teams competing for titles.

They're arsenal fans, they can't get their head around frozen foods let alone figure out what happens in a game of football.
