Tottenham vs Man City

The first match was abandoned because of bad rain (lol...can't see that happening any more) so the match took place at night. Spurs scored first (not sure of the scorer) Uwe Rosler equalised, then David Howells scored towards the end of the game.

Good first experience.

If I remember, remember it was 5th November '88 which would have made me ten. I didn't even know where we were going until I got there.

Paul Stewart put us one up within 5 minutes before Derby hit back & put 3 past Bobby Mimms.

Ah, good times.

Millwall at home, Boxing Day 1989. Won 3-1 I think.

Samways scored a quality chip, Teddy was playing for Millwall.

That was a morning kick off.

I was with my pals in a box on the old shelf, we had a brekkie served then
tore into the Holsten Pils like they were going out of fashion, the waitresses had to keep going out for more.

I think Ruddock played for Millwall that day also, we got thrown out of the ground about 2 hours after the match was over 'cos they wanted to shut the place. So we continued in the Bricklayers until we were very merry.

Lost 4-3 to Villa. Gerry Francis' first game. 3-0 down after about 25 mins! Got it back to 3-3 (Klin, Sheringham and Dazza) then Dean saunders popped up to break my heart.

That was my first game as well. My brother took me as a birthday present so it must have been in mid november. I remember when Saunders nicked it past Mabbut in the last minute and went on to score. Heartbreaking stuff for the first game.

It set me up for the roller coaster ride of going to the Lane on a regular basis and the great thing is i can think of at least another 10 or 15 home games that were as entertaining or more. We do seem to be blessed with a lot of high scoring games at home.

Good for the entertainment not sure about my nerves though.

Mine was against Chelski. It was either the back end of the 98/99 season or the beginning of the 99/00 season. It was midweek. Mikeal Goldbaek got both for them and Iversen and Ginola got ours. I sat in the front row of the Park Lane, just to the side of the goal.

Oldham, I can never remember the year, it was april time either 93 or 94. We were one down but came back and won it 4-1. Sat on the front row of the east upper, probably the best seats Ive ever had but all I wanted to do was go down to the paxton(which was still terraced) cause they were all stood up and singing(how times change!)

Wolves, Weds 4th September 1963. kick-off 7:30. Block A (unreserved section). Ok, I admit - I have the ticket in front of me! We won 4-3.

1st EVER match was at Anfield, August 1962. Liverpool 4 Man City 1.

As a 9yr old I thought Anfield dark, gloomy and grim. White Hart Lane a year later was bright under the lights: a pea-green pitch, the whiter than white shirts of Spurs and the old gold and black of Wolves - I was hooked.

Mind you, just as well I didn't attend the next Spurs game otherwise I might have thought differently - we lost 7-2 at Blackburn.

October 18th 1989.

Tottenham Hotspur 2 - 0 Pikey Romany filth 0
Samways
Walsh

38,344 (if I remember correctly)

Nice ruck on the pitch between some pikeys and a load of Spurs fans in the corner by the Park Lane and East Stand after the first goal. Terry Fenwick flattened Winterburn with a lovely knee to the chest right in front of me too.

I was 14 and I was hooked!!

First post on the site after years of just reading but this topic was worthy.

My first game was against Wolves 2003 where Spurs won 5-2...a great game! My mate (A life long Spurs fan) brought me and his two daughters and, while escorting his girls to the toilet, he missed every single Spurs goal!

It was a great game (hat-trick from Keane the internet reminds me) and set me on the path as a Spurs supporter forever.

December 28th 1993: Spurs-Norwich 1-3

I remember I was sitting in row 3 in East stand close to Paxton.

Barmby scored our goal.

Ekoku and Sutton (2) scored for Norwich.

11 October 1958, Spurs 10, Everton 4. I'd been to some reserves games before then, but that was my first First XI match.

You should be since 58 then?

Home to Villa in April 92, I think we were 2-0 up both from Lineker and lost 5-2. Nothing changes. Plus got coffee spilt on me.
