So you don't like Robbie Keane, so what? why does your dislike of him deserve a thread? Its pointless, your not trying to have a discussion you just want to keep repeating the same bollocks over and over.

Surely you have better things to do with your time than continue to make a Clint out of yourself.

You're right. Discussing the relative merits of a Spurs player on Spurs community. What a wasted thread. :sleepy:

I suggest we all 'chill'. If people want to discuss a dip in Robbie's form here then feel free. If it is a thread that spirals off into questioning the integrity of a poll that has been fairly treated throughout, followed by exchanges of insults then this thread will be locked.

I would also point out that while I'm sure nobody would mean to compare clint to a certain banned word on here in order to evade the censor you are treading a very thin line if you try to do so. Now that this has been made clear any future bans for calling someone a 'clint' will also be clear and understandable.

 to be honest I didn't even realise that is what he was doing. I didn't realise an objective review of the young Irishman would provoke such a response.

But are you seriously suggesting that Berba, without the 'magic' is a better player than Keane without the magic?

Really don't understand your logic as when Berbs has an off day (ie without the 'magic') he may as well not be on the pitch. Keane on the other hand, even on an off day, will work his nuts off for the team.

I am sorry but I really dont see it that way. Keane has contributed very little over the last 12 games. Even in the Chelsea game where he scored the screamer he was virtually invisible for the rest of the game.

I don't buy into this "headless chicken" act RK seems to have perfected, if he stuck his foot into a tackle or challenged for once in a while, maybe I would.

Berbatov however will always bring down that chest height ball with consummate ease and try to wriggle through a few players, even when he has zero assistance from the rest of the team.

Dont confuse his languid style with laziness and don't confuse his frustration at the way we play sometimes as churlishness.

To be honest thou, you're not making a objective review, hardly anybody here is. All our opinions and whatever facts we use becomes tainted by our personal opinions and preferences... you might prefer Berbatov for his silky skills whereas others might see more value in Robbies hard work and passion. Both sides have good points and both sides seem to miss the fact that it is a partnership, where they both contribute.

Fact is that they make a almost perfect partnership and both have stated how much they enjoy playing with the other, and they have this season scored and assisted to almost the same amount of goals.. indicating that it is a very balanced partnership, where both would suffer without the other...

I hope that both players stay here, as it seems to me we have a brilliant and balanced partnership, with a good backup in Bent.

to sum up: berbatov is more talented, keane works harder which makes there contribution almost even
then why the top clubs want exactly berbatov and not keane given keane is much cheaper

Good question. As far as I'm aware the only serious interest we have had for Robbie is from Everton and Wolves.

Not quite the same as Man Utd and Milan.

Keane doesn't have an agent using the media for a potential move every chance he / she gets.

To me, Robbie Keane was my player of the year.
His work rate, his captaincy duties, his team lifting during the game and his sportsmanship, along with his serious improved and consistant playing ability won it for me.

He deserves it.

Thats not to say I think he is better than Berbatov (I think few players are), but before MJ left, Berbatov was a shadow of the player we are seeing now.
For reasons unknown he didn't contribute well enough for me.

Robbie for me.

'Objective' presumably means a totally made-up statistic? I think not.

what are you saying - top clubs want keane but his agent is silent about it or berbatov's agent makes up the interest of the top clubs wich are not interested in the bulgarian
whatever you say it seems to me implausible but i may be wrong

And Celtic. And Villa. Not the same as Man Utd or Milan, no. But Berbatov is undervalued in terms of wages, and looks like he wants to move. Showing interest is clearly unsettling him, a strategy encouraged by his amateur agent. Keano is on relatively high wages, a long contract, doesn't show any indication of wanting to move and bleeds blue and white. If we did put a valuation on him tomorrow it'd be a fuck of a lot more than we've ever been offered for him in the past. Yes, Berbatov is the better player but there's not as much in it as you think.

Celtic and Villa has only been paper talk.

Only official enquiries have been Everton and Wolves.

I am puzzled as to why you think someone who hasnt been offered a big money move elsewhere bleeds blue and white? Keanos resolve has never been tested IMO.
