Unveiling AVB would make us the laughing stock of the league, he did well at Porto but strangely I find myself agreeing with Spursking on him. He completely lost the dressing room at Chelsea and I'd have serious doubts about him and his man managment especially

It was tough to actually pick a realistic name hut in the end I settled on Moyes, largely because I think he is massively underrated on here with so much focus on this myth of dire football.

I strongly considered AVB but, as someone else said, he is on the hunt for a bigger job long term and think we would only keep him a couple of years and I believe we desperately need that long term vision now.

Pep and Jose are completely unrealistic. I absolutely rate Capello bit can't consider him for the same reason as AVB. I reckon I'd also be happy with Blanc, unsure on Deschamps. Don't think Klopp or Low would be realistic. And unlike most people on here I think Martinez is totally overrated and inexperienced. People seem to forget that we put 9 goals past his keeper.

Realistically there aren't many top level managers available unfortunately......would have loved Lambert tbh.

It's really not an easy decision

Jose would be a no brainer if he was a possibility but I think even the most optimistic Spurs fan would be pushing their own realms of belief to claim he was likely to come

PG, I dunno how or why so many people seem to think he could be sold on our project. All I can say is I disagree, I don't think he would come over to manage us even if he were not taking a year out (my opinion for what its worth)

The rest, there's no one that really stands out as both available and a great low risk choice

AVB is an interesting option but his time at Chelsea really does cast significant doubt

So many others have no experience of our league or have only been successful in one environment and as we saw with Ramos current success can be deceiving and there is more to looking at a managers success at a successful team (like Porto or Sevilla in Ramos case.....what you really need to determine is the extent to which the manager was responsible for that success)

Close between AVB and Moyes but I think I would just plump for Moyes. AVB has some good ideas, but I think Moyes is a better man manager possibly and he also has the toughness to deal with players when they step out of line. Players can be a stroppy bunch and the simple fact of the matter is the Chelsea players wanted to play for Di Matteo and for AVB they didn't.

2 people seriously think Jose would leave Real for us at this time?
Dunno why you put Jose and pep there, ye shoulda known people would vote for them and theres no point in including them. Theres no way we will win the EPL so gimme any guy who is good with the press and gives us good football. Whoo would I like? Martin Jol..... May as well have said Jose there though.

Levy was resigned to losing Harry to England way back in feb, surely he has been privately working on a replacement for a while now, if not why? and if not why sack him without a plan b....thats leads me to believe we have someone lined up who is either still in work,ie the Euro's or someone who Levy has 'tapped' and is confident will join us very soon.

I explained why I put them there earlier in the thread

Just because I think they're unrealistic doesn't mean other posters will think the same and if I excluded them from the poll it would not be reflecting the views and opinions of the posters.

If they weren't worth putting on the poll why do they have so many votes between them? because obviously some people think they would come and who am I to censor their views and force them to vote for someone that doesn't represent their views?

when i question people voting I'm not saying it like "why the fuck are you voting for them?" i'm asking people to articulate why they would approach Jose and or Pep and what makes them think either or both would consider taking our job, just because I disagree with this view point doesn't mean I am going to exclude it (as for Jol, I forgot about him to be honest)

I thought that 100% too when it first happened

The suggestions that he offered Redknapp a one year rolling extension makes me question this and worry that perhaps he is not as well prepared as I had first thought.

If he had someone lined up why would he be prepared to let Harry stay in the job for a year? (if that was true of course)

Harry hinted that Levy didn't offer him anything and that Levy told him straight at their meeting that they were there to discuss compensation, if we do have someone already lined up, i think both DL and the new manager might prefer not to announce it immediately but wait maybe a week so as to make it look like they hadn't met up and agreed everything while Harry was still our boss.

This would suggest that 'Arry (or his journo friends) was being slightly disingenuous to suggest that results wouldn't have made a difference because he wasn't liked or didn't get 3rd or didn't get CL or whatever, as that sounds like Levy had everything prepared for when 'Arry got the England job. Him not getting that vacancy may have made Levy pause briefly before deciding to go ahead (hypothetical).

Fucks sake Levy, putting in this position again. But hey ho.

Moyes all the way. Two things have probably been said about Guardiola but here goes:

1. He managed one of the greatest teams ever, I can see no reason why he would come to a Champions League-less team.

2. He is taking a year off.

Anyone else is a huge risk and one we don't need lest we get left behind for a season or two. I can see Moyes coming in and not needing to change too much, if at all. He knows the league, he will know some players- he knows how to get results away from home, against top sides, his teams often play with both rigidity and style and I can't see a downside.

Trouble is Levy seems hell bent on going on another European 'fact finding' tour to find the next Santini.

Woopy doo.

He really isn't. What AVB is looking for, especially after being undermined and not backed at Chelsea,
is a club with resources in one of the biggest leagues that will support him and his philosophy 100% over a longer period.
Liverpool talks broke down due to his demand of a contract that couldnt be terminated for the first few years.

Moyes is the safest bet to keep us in top 6,
but I doubt he'll take us anywhere.
Not a winner in my eyes.

This sounds may sound weird, but do you think if Moyes was as cool as AVB and wore slick suits, he would be much higher up everyone's wish list. I'm just wondering if AVB was ugly and wore a crappy tracksuit on the touch line, would everyone still rate him as much?
