I thought Pirlo looked good in the Ital / Holland game and pinged a few nice passes about.

Zambrotta was also excellent, especially considering he was down the left for the most of the game.

They are truly world class. Even though I am a Milan supporter, I never used to rate Pirlo but he is such a great player. They both played excellent against the Dutch.

erm....Baros impressed me!! if I didnt know who he was I would say we should def. be in for him!! That Rangers guy also impressed

Which says a good deal about scouting and buying players on the strength of their international performances!

The players that have stood out for me are Raphael Van der Vaart and David Villa - it would be fantastic if we could get either of them!

Yep sneijder is awesome, hopefully modric can play like him for us this season.

The big russian did look good too, pavylechenko or whatever his name is. And he scored alot in the qualifiers too. Actually now i look he has a 1 in 2 goal scoring record for spartak. We should look at him!

Turkey's keeper has played very well tonight so far. Made a few good saves in some tough conditions.

Volkan's been immense.

Would love him at Spurs.

I am biased and loved beating Switzerland tnite, just absolutely LOVED it.

I have just calmed down.

I noticed the typical players on everyone's list: Mountinho has been superb and just as outstanding as Deco, and Van De Vaart is the one player who I would love to have and still can't believe no one other than Hamburg bid for him when he left Ajax.

Another player which caught my eye is Russia's right wing-back, Yuri Zhirkov. Not syure if everyone noticed since Russia lost so badly but I thought he did a solid defending job while attacking very well againgst Segio Ramos. Skinned him a few times. Too bad we have Hutton already.

Arda Turan, really fast and technically gifted lad... Didn't saw much the ball on first game but was really lively on second game against Switzerland even weather was like a shit. He would be much better choice than Capel.

Pirlo and Zambrotta have looked good but the one player I cannot help admiring is Jose Bosingwa who we were linked with some time age. Pity, he has signed for the wrong London club. He truly is the best right back I've seen in a long time.

Zhirkov is left footed mate. Normally plays left back or left wing.

Turan and Afellay both looked really good. I'd be happy with either of them.

I'm gonna be so relieved when we sign a quality DM though, they seem to be few and far between.

Marcos Senna has been excellent. Not sure how old he is now but he could do a job for us for a couple of seasons. Wish we'd signed him a couple of years back.

I started a thread about Moutinho the other day that got shifted to to general football chat so don't be surprised if this thread goes the same way.

Definitely impressed with Moutinho, Affellay, Frings, Sionko as somewhat realistic targets for us. And i agree Kazim Richards seems to have matured into a decent player.

Deco is clearly playing for a club and will be free to move, although we have Modric anyway. Not always impressed with Deco but seems to have done well so far.

Schneider, Zambrotta, Engelaar and David Villa too but Villa aside (who may be out of our price range anyway at this rate) the others are sorted with clubs for the coming season.

Villa, Silva and Senna, none of which are realistic targets.

Have to say I totally agree with this. Senna would suit us perfectly, just sitting in in front of the back four. Silva I thought was magnificent the other night. Always been impressed by him. Isn't he at Valencia too, so they might be open to offers? (not from us, obviously - or rather Silva would want more). Villa is class of course. And won't be coming to us either.
Frings would do nicely too.

And I know it's all about opinions, but I can't believe somebody picked out Boswinga from all of these players - looks to me like a poor man's Chimbonda, he's really raw. Not bad (not great either) going forward, but fairly clueless when actually asked to defend. I think Chelsea have paid about 4 times his real-world value (about the going rate for them).

Pirlo was dreadfull against Holland I thought, and I really like him!!! so was Gattuso mind, and I like him even more!!!

On Bosingwa I have not been convinced 100%, yep he is brilliant going forwards, and has a great tackle on him. However having said that he does leave the flank wide open whaen he goes down it, Thats what happens in a wingless formation, and also he has made a couple of errors. I should know for both Portugal games I was seeing what he did whenever he was on the screen. So yes hes looked good but for me hasnt showed why Chelsea paid soooo much for him!!

Might surprise a few but I really liked the look of Gokhan Inler from Switzerland. I kept an eye on him in the Swiss match and ive seen him a few times this season for Udinese and he has been great. He would be a great signing for us as our defensive midfielder, he has good pace, power, athlestism and is good passer. Bingo !!!

Kind of warming up to him myself. Though Serie A and the EPL have very different style.
Him and Akinfeev would be good for Spurs.
