personally I think we are landing just about where we should be with a second tier manager with second tier players. That sounds derogatory but its not meant to be, it just means we are not at the top table in either camp.
Don't think any of our attacking players, where our major investment was this summer, would get in either Citys, Arse, Chelseas or Uniteds team or for that matter probably Liverpools either.
AVB has achieved in Portugal but nowhere else, which shouldn't be sneezed at, but by no means is it an endorsement that he sits at the top table of management.

so just about where we should be, possibly 6th or 7th so maybe a little underachievement currently

Its not the results that are concerning me, well yesterday concerned me obviously but its our football. Its just not sustainable to keep playing like this without coming unstuck regularly without a world class match winner ie Bale last season.

Dull football is only going to exasperate the fans and when results turn frustrations hit new levels. We can't go on continuing to score so few goals and expect that to be a successful formula, it just isn't - no matter how good we are defensively. Goals win games.

Its the football that we need to see change. The way we pass and move for one another, the tempo we play at and ultimately the way we attack as a team. These are the issues that are at the heart of the problem.

At the very least we need to see AVB recognising this and attempting to do something about it. If he doesn't I fear the writing is already on the wall.

I'm just glad most of you are coming around to it.

For the last few weeks a few of us have been saying it and have been heavily derided.
But now the veil of deception is off and the world can see we can't score and if we don't have the ball, we can't defend either.

Get ready to wave goodbye to Lloris and Vertonghen next season.
Hopefully Lamela and Soldado find form or leave at not too much of a financial loss.

We're in a lot of trouble imo.

The worst bit about the result is the overwhelming feeling that some Spurs "supporters" couldnt wait for a result like that.....pathetic really.

We shouldn't let AVB go just yet. He can still turn this around, but something has to change, hopefully our style of play not the manager. Honestly though, I think fans have been predicting this.....not wanting it.

So you'd rather we got beat 1-0 and AVB comes out and says "we were unlucky, e had lots of possession and it was a performance of immense dimensions"
And then next week we lose 1-0 to Manchester United having registered 27 weak as fuck shots directly at De Gea and he says "" we were unlucky, today we came up against a goalkeeper at the top of his game, another day we would have scored 5"

The only way to force him to take a long hard look at how shit we've become is to Utterly fucking destroy us.
For that I thank you Manchester City.

Sorry my friend you are deluded if you think AVB is suddenly going to turn into someone else. He destroyed a bunch of winners at chelski (after going the same squad won the CL) making them look a joke and now he has done the same to a very good squad that we have. There is no evidence to support your hopes; only blind, misguided faith in imaginary abilities possessed by the manager

No, I'd rather we beat City, and United, like last season (under AVB)...its called supporting the club, and I enjoy it immensely.

We don't have the players to make up for the managers ineptitude.
Bale was again instrumental in those two wins.

Bale is gone. Now there is no paper to cover the cracks.

I dont believe for one second that the players aren't good enough, thats nonsense. Our squad has a bucket load of talent in it, we simply need the right formation and playing style to bring out the best in them.

Has anyone considered that the players maybe don't have faith in the manager themselves and are struggling to play for him for that reason? The Chelsea situation shows thats been a problem for him before and his handling of the Ade saga hasn't been ideal. Harry may not have been the most tactical but his players want to play for him everywhere he goes.

I don't mean to keep making comparisons but HR is our most successful manager in my time as a fan so he has to be the benchmark that AVB is measured against.

We've filled the cracks, just a question of a bit of patience while the filler sets.

You are spot on with the last bit which is why 4th needs to be AVB's target. If he misses it two years in a row then fair enough we can look at his position, but it is worth noting that, however shambolic we've been at times this season, we are still only 2 points off 4th so we're far from out of the running meaning that he deserves more time.

You're having a giraffe aren't you?????
No I'm just realistic about what I expect this season after our best player left and a raft of new players were brought in. Sorry this season hasn't lived up to your expectations so far....and feel free not to attend on Sunday, maybe you can find someone who actually wants the team to do well, the Lane seems half full of "supporters" who can't wait for a bad result these days.
