Why do spurs fans hate jenas so much?

what matters as weiner rightly says is what jj offers - not in what he might offer

what he offers is enough to get him picked on merit for four straight seasons as a regular

clearly he's convinced hr jr and mj

who knows if he had even half a fair chance at spurs and even 50% of the support he deserved, and not had his stay here continually blighted by abuse both at the grounds and on the forums - some of which doubtess filters back to the stands, he may have developed more than he has

as for screaming advice at JJ - well I wasn't there - but generally I find the people screaming advice not to know as much about football as the current manager - there will always be exceptions, this may have been one of them-

going away from the particular event as I clearly can't comment on that, most of the time the people who give advice on a regular basis within my earshot when I have been at the Lane would be better off using their energy to support the team

As i've already said he's a great athlete with no football brain,

Just repeating your ill-considered and sweeping statement again and again doesn't make it more plausible. I think we have a very effective midfield 4, in which Jenas plays a very important part. He is very disciplined and hard-working and seems to understand/fulfill the role given him by Redknapp very well.

By the way, what is a football brain? Sounds like an illness.

and that at this club means you're not good enough i'm afraid!

If by "this club" you mean Tottenham Hotspur PLC, I think you will find he is considered good enough. The man in charge of selecting the first team, one Mr Harold Redknapp, plays him when fit.

well said again weiner, I'd rep you some more but I can't

add mr juande ramos and mr martin jol to the managers who think jj has sufficient'football brain' to play for this club

from memory v WBA the telegraph said jj had the best pass accuracy rate of our players - it was certainly one of the best at over 80% IIRC

and I'm pretty sure he was their MOTM too -

EDIT -

yep JJ - MOTM for telegraph - suggesting he did a few things right

he was the most accurate of our 3 mid players in his passing - yep more so than modric and wilson who doubtless didn't get half the flak the JJ got (not that they deserve flak either BTW :)

JJ had 63 passes 89% accuracy

LM 68 passes 81% accuracy

WP 46 passes 83% accuracy

where WP and LM both did better was in balls won - 3 apiece - 0 for JJ

but of course JJ got the crucial goal which doubtless tipped the MOTM award

'a beautiful finish' as the telegraph described it

jj had 3 shots BTW - LM 2 - WP 1

worryingly, both jj and LM had more shots than Keane

Many thanks Mr DC_Boy. Have some rep back.

I tend to agree with much of what you say, as many on this site do, and appreciate the time and effort you put in to trying to understand the mystery that is THFC.

Where I differ from you, is that unlike you, I am no gentleman and cannot show any respect or take seriously those who boo or mindlessly and needlessly criticise our players and management.

thanks for the kind words Wiener and I totally understand your anger at the people who seem to delight in bringing our players down, I just find it easier to ignore them - but your stance is very much vindicated :)

on the forums the jj hating/bashing, while horrible and making one despair at times, doesn't matter too much

unfortunately it happens in the ground(s) as well and that's where it gets detrimental to the club - which is most depressing

this thread has been interesting in that at least one person, possibly more, has admitted that they hated/bashed jj for no good reason

well it's good that sinners repent but you know that's three/four years that spurs can't get back with people bringing down our player(s) for no good reason at all - amazing - why do it?

As ever, JJ-defending on here is about 10-15 times more prevalent than JJ-bashing. Yet you'd never know it from the tone of the majority of the posts. And the bashing is very unfair.

On the subject of what managers thought of him, Ramos felt that JJ was captaincy material. On this, he was wronger than a wrong wrong 'un bowled left handed from the back of the wrist. JJ is no captain or leader. His 'goldfish bowl' comments about St Jimmy's showed up his fragile mental state and it is possibly unsurprising that groups of males in enclosed spaces pick on a character displaying such weakness. The fact he looks better with a thug alongside him to protect him perhaps reinforces this view.

My psychobabbly explanation for the original post, for what it's worth.

This is getting tiresome people keep using the term "bashing". People have different views and look for different things in players and point out what they think the player is doing or in JJ's case not doing. How that constitutes bashing is beyond me.

Only in one post a member called him a homo which I thought was below the belt but otherwise than that is just fans calling it how they see it good or bad but bashing?

If I've got SC's definition of bashing wrong the please enlighten me

I think most people (and obviously I include myself in this group) on here take issue with the mindless, negative, ill-considered and abusive language used against players, management and other SC members.

I don't see myself as a JJ-defender. I am just curious how people justify or explain their opinions/actions.

I totally agree with your view regarding Jenas as leadership material.

.

well said again Wiener - why do people think it's ok to write horrible obnoxious things about fellow members, and spurs players,
it's called spurs community, not let's insult our players and our fellow supporters

incidentally with regard to the bashers/defenders ratio - it wasn't always like this - at one time it was just and a few others who were leading the defence against a large group of people, some of who used some 'not very nice language'
