I'm watching a french stream. The two presenters, one of whom is wearing a "keep calm and kiss my ass" T-shirt, have spent some of the half time analysis dancing to "daddy cool". This is so much more fun than Jamie and Niall pontificating

Carroll and Thudd can easily pull the string but who do you sacrifice for Lennon? Dempsey/Defoe/Bale are our only goalscorers...

I'd take Dempsey off out of the 3, think it's a no brainer. Defoe and Bale much more likely to score. Lennon might do a good job playing in a more advanced role, I've seen him come inside and cause havoc on the ball plenty of times.

For all BAE's faults, this is exactly the type of game he excels in. His defense has been questionable recently, but Naughton hasn't been challenged defensively the entire match.

BAE is a much bigger threat going forward than Naughton, mostly BAE is a natural LB. Naughton looks uncomfortable on the left when in possession.

You can't hate Parker for trying at least he is trying to score.

Maybe if some of the other players were doing their job Parker wouldn't be in final third, the fact that you have heard Parker name more than any one else when we're attacking says a lot about the other players.

Frustrating really, admittedly, we somehow despite our dominance haven't even scored one proper goal as our one was a bit of a fluke.

For our dominance we haven't actually troubled their keeper much and most of our good chances are surprisingly coming from long balls but we should be passing through this team on the deck as well.

I just think in the final 3rd our general passing and effectiveness has been poor but I don't think this helps with an ineffective Dempsey on the left and Bale on the right who's struggling to get into the game. I would personally put Lennon on for Dempsey and have him and Bale swap sides.

A few points:

- We seriously need to do some work on defending corners. We've conceded tons of cheap goals from them recently (Basel, Everton, Swansea) and it's costing us points. Something that should be quite rudimentary is becoming a serious problem. Wigan are hardly full of spirit and gumption and to concede a goal like that against them so soon after scoring is poor. If we'd held on for a few more minutes I suspect their heads would've dropped and they would've been for the taking. Extremely frustrating.

- Dembele coming off may well be a blessing in disguise. He didn't look up for it and his movement was poor- if there's one thing Holtby provides it's energy and movement, so hopefully this will work to our advantage.

- Hudd's passing has been great. Hopefully Lennon comes on soon and we can exploit their defence even more in the 2nd half.

We are the better team here, and the team most likley to score, i think some comments on here would be fitting if we were 100-0 down and had 10 players sent off or injured!! lets see what happens in the second half of the game before anyone tries to kill themselves!

Half time ratings:

Lloris 6 - nothing to do
Verts 6 - not much to do but at fault for their goal
Dawson 5 - again, not much to do but gave away a stupid foul and keeps lumping the ball up field
Naughton 7 - looked lively going forward
Walker 8 - our most attacking player so far
Huddlestone 9 - excellent 1st half, great array of passes and good set pieces
Dembele 3 - completely anonymous before going off injured
Parker 3 - no comment
Dempsey 4 - couple of early runs but pretty anonymous
Defoe 6 - made a few runs but poor control has let him down
Bale 5 - he's scored but other than that he's been very quiet

We're crying out for width and penetration from central midfield.

Lennon for Dempsey and Sig for Parker.

bale was excellent, played some great stuff passes. all of dawsons punts found a player

So that was a reasonable half, ruined by one lax piece of set piece defending - Jan got beat too easily. The pressure has been good off the ball generally, we've created openings and unfortunately we don't quite have the brains when we arrive at that crunch moment to take advantage as we would really like. We shouldn't be losing this, they've had 2 shots, we've had 10, we've had more of the ball and in more dangerous areas - keep on doing this then we should be able to find a winner.

Hudd has had an excellent first half, the big test for him and something he's struggled with in the past is maintaining that because he's got the ball moving well in the midfield - 46/50 passes is a really excellent return from that deep lying position.

This game has got a Bale inspired winner written all over it, lets hope he finds it for us.

Agreed. We looks certain to grab a goal and are in a good position to. I can only see Wigan scoring from a set piece or a blue screen of death from the defence, we just have to maintain concentration at the back and get our attackers to have a go.

we have got in behind a fair bit, just need to up the tempo and have a few moments of magic, bit static in midfield at times, lets get at them.. COYS

I think its a real shame Sandro was injured when he was, had it not been for that we could probably have offloaded Parker to Harry and Rangers for big money in the Jan window

he's no longer up to the task of being a first team player for us and he needs to be moved on, if at all possible we have to cash in while he retains any value

however he does deserve more respect from Spurs fans than he's getting, he was fantastic for us last year and he did a good job of covering Sandro who was a massive loss - he helped us go on a big run of unbeaten form and not many team can say they have BACK UP as good as Scottie for times of need like when we lost Sandro, who at the time was one of our best players

He's been a great signing but its time he went back to West Ham or followed Harry to the Championship perhaps, right now he's only taking up space young Carroll could make use of
