If he does go for our deadwood, he will cement what i already thought of him , great bloke ...average football manager.

Fayed is hardly known for his big spending so I think at best Keane on loan or something maybe Jenas on loan too, our players wages would be out of reach for Fulham

Could see him bring Mounir el Hamdaoui with him,
good foil for Zamora and someone who want out of Ajax.

I would very surprised if he doesn't. Jenas and Keane have to be the obvious candidates that would be realistic.

He knows them, they're at Fulhams level now and they would get the chance of first team football whilst still remaining in London.

Duff being there for Keane too is probably a nice bonus.

Only obstacle will be wages, not so much Jenas...but Keane. I honestly think though Robbie is aware that he'll have to take a cut if he wants to play regularly at the top level again....this move would make total sense for him, a manager who knows him and will give him plenty of time to prove his worth....could be a good partnership for Fulham...Keane and Zomora.

10 million for the pair of them would be amazing business IMO.

Average is harsh, he got us within a win of getting 4th spot above a very good Arsenal team with a pretty average team and then got us 5th the next year.

Will be interesting to see if he goes for any ex-players. I have a sneaky feeling that Bentley may end up there despite the fact Jol hasn't worked with Bentley before

See no reason why Keane couldnt be as good for Fulham as Danny Murphy have proved to be. Murphy was more or less same age, and looked finished as well.
All about fitting into the team and having the manager's faith.

Ok just above average.....is that better  what Harry has done and the amount of shit he gets is a joke.Jol is a bloke who we all loved and still do, but i don't regard him as a manager who would have brought us real success, thats my opinion by the way, When things got sticky on and off the pitch, big martin looked out of his depth i'm afraid.

We should be very worried now. Fulham I can see challenging for 5th/6th spot in the next season or so. Buying Keane would be an astute move, one of the best strikers in the premiership and he'd get him at a knock-down price. For people with short memories Keane and Jol may be average but were okay at the time. For the rest of us they are highly talented guys who we've cast aside in favour of a bit of flash.

If I were him I'd be looking at Bassong, Kranjcar and maybe Gomes if we're silly enough to let them go.

Actually the amount of shit he gets is because of what he has done. Jol took a decent team and took them from never having played in europe to the verge of the CL. Three seasons running. Harry has taken much better players and done marginally better. If Jol had Bale, Modric, Gomes, Sandro and VDV we would have been top 4 all those years. As it is, we wouldn't have got those players if it weren't for Jol

I disagree...what we count as deadwood (Keane, Jenas, Bentley) are only deadwood because the rest of our squad is now significantly better. Those players would form the backbone for a team like Fulham when you consider where they are in the league and what financial resources they have. It's a no brainer to me, he knows those players well (with the exception of Bentley obviously) so it makes sense he'd go for players he know will make an immediate impact. Yeah it might not show much adventure in the transfer market but why be risky when there're players out there you know from previous experience?

Jenas and Bentley were always deadwood. They're not even good enough for Fulham!

I have this bad vision of Keane going there, refinding his form and then putting 3 past us at the Lane while Defoe runs around like a headless chicken at the other end of the pitch.

I wish BMJ the best, but I hope Fulham go down the toilet.

Harry get's 'shit' because of the way he reacts to the fans I think you'll find hardly anyone wanted Jol out. Out of interest who do you regard as a manager to of brought us success? Success really means winning trophies so technically Ramos is more successful than 'Arry and Jol but would you say he was better?

Marginally better....???

Last eight of the Champions league!!

wins away at ...liverpool,the scum, Ac milan, city,

wins at home against ..the european champs, chelsea, the scum, city

CL in his first full season, and making us the talk of the CL.
and all this when we were bottom when he took over the year before..

FFS...Harry has not been marginally better...he has been alot better, show me Jol's major achievments or big wins.

we can't loan keane AGAIN. He only has 1 year left. If its another loan we would only save 3m in wages. We should still be looking to get 6m from his sale

Top post. Exactly that. JJ for one would be a brilliant signing for any team in the bottom half/middle table. Most of us here recognize he's still a very good squad player. As for Keane, the Jol arm round the shoulder approach could work wonders and I think he'd make a great partner for Zamora.

To be fair, BMJ was only 3 points away from getting us into the CL as well, It wasn't as if he was miles behind like Ramos was.....and let's stop with this "we were bottom when Harry took over" stuff as it was not a position reflective of our squad and was, in part, as a result of a player revolt against Ramos.

1; We were only 2 ties from the CL final, .....3 from winning it :eek:mg:

2; Oh yes....Harry took over a team that had a players revolt and had them all singing to his tune immediately, thats another one i forgot ..cheers
