No, there are articles on Shaktar trying to built a strong link with Brazil. I have read that they even go as far as trying to make many elements of their home country available to them. It's an attempt to get promising young talent playing for them, and it's win-win. They get great players, the players get experience, and Shaktar gets $$$ when they sell to the big clubs.

And $$$ from being in the CL every season.

On a Football Weekly podcast a few months ago, Jonathan Wilson gave some good insight into how they go to great lengths to make them feel at home.

Just like at Spurs, where we always remember to tell all our Brazilian players which planes they should and shouldn't be on .....

11.16 GMT: Word filters in from ESPN FC contributor, and Brazilian football expert, Chris Atkins that AVB did not, in fact, even imply in his Lancenet interview that Spurs would go back in for Willian. The quotes as they appeared in the Mirrorappear to contain a fabrication.

Imagine my shock to hear that the Mirror are printing made-up rubbish in their paper ....................

Interesting quotes from a fourfourtwo article today. (http://fourfourtwo.com/news/england/116899/default.aspx)

Willian, who joined Shakhtar for $19 million on a five-year contract in 2007 and has gone on to win four Ukrainian Premier League titles, the Ukrainian Cup on three occasions as well as the UEFA Cup, has also distanced himself from claims by Donetsk team-mate and ex-Arsenal goal-getter Eduardo that there are only three English clubs 'good enough' for Willian: Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal.

"Absolutely not. Tottenham are a big team with a great structure and great players too. I would rate them with Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United."

Willian is out of contract in June 2014 if Transfermarkt.co.uk is to be believed. I think that if we are going to try to sign him then the end of the season is the time to do it as Shakhtar will definitely be up for selling him in the summer as they won't want to lose him on a free in the 2014 winter window and his short contract length could bring his price down to a level which we would be happy to pay.

Same goes for Lewandowski, Badstuber and Nani if we were thinking about trying to sign any of these.

I wonder if this is Levy's primary transfer strategy. Declare major interest in a player, then wait until his contract runs out...

Hard to say if we value him at the price being touted. But, personally I'd love the move. I'd be completely fine with landing him and putting off finding a true CF until the summer. He could slot into the hole, play out wide to the right and actually give Lennon some breaks, or even play with Dembele in front of Sandro in an attacking 4-3-3. Not to mention the cover for Bale should he go down with injury or be sold in the summer.

After watching multiple matches of his, his fluidity and unnoticeable drop in play switching from either wing and in to the middle of the pitch is hard to find. That type of fluidity could be massive against teams like Stoke.

If we add Willian, it not only gives that flair we've been lacking, but also the quality cover should Bale leave.

So when's he signing for Chelsea then?

Unfortunately, I have this impression as well.

They just want to compile all of the AM/Wingers of the world and simply sit half of them on their bench. They will be deploying the 4-6 formation.

I know, they make you sick, don't they? Sometimes I'm actually shocked at just how much I despise those bastards

I've said this before, but they are now my most-hated club in the PL. I can't stand the pricks. They did not win the Champions League, Bayern lost it. As a result they basically took Hazard from us. And, they trumped our bid for Oscar, apparently (I don't know if it's true, but by God I'm believing it).
