Pochettino: "I am happy with Soldado. All players are in my plans. I expect all players to [stay] here because we have a lot of games"

With these sort of remarks coming from Poch in press conferences, the playing of Adebayor, Kaboul, Capoue and a number of the other players who do not seem to fit with Poch's high tempo style and the general lack of transfers at other PL clubs, I'm rapidly downgrading my hopes. I was hoping for at least 4 out and 2 or 3 in, but now am wondering if its 0 - 2 in and lucky to get one in.

Problem basically seems to be that there is no market fior our players at decent prices (equally true for other clubs, other than SWansea selling Bony) hence no sales so far and no room (for reason of wages or player numbers) to bring in any players

Guys, let's all look at history, and repeat: We ain't signing anybody of note.

We get our hopes up but Levy has never done anything to the contrary. Be happy with what we've got, that's all we're gonna have.

You can't fault MoPo's man management skills. Seems the ITK that said the other ITK was wrong was right!:p

Agreed, Its good man management skills as its apparant that Poch will need to play the majority of the existing squad (which means re-integrating the likes of Adebayor, Kaboul, Capoue if they stay) as its clear we are not going tio be able to sell 4-10 of the squad and bring in 3 or 4 which I suspect might have been Poch's dream TW. Looks like even 2 or 3 out might be a stretch atm

I don't think we should be taking anything Poch says seriously. Even if we don't bring anyone in I still expect us to bring down the wage bill as much as possible in preparation for the Summer.

Please, please do not sign Kevin Mirallas.....we have enough inconsistent players already.

I wouldn't worry - I very much doubt we'll be signing anyone this transfer window

That's not necessarily a bad thing. If we wait until the summer, players will be cheaper in price, Poch will know exactly who he needs in and out, and our new recruitment/scout guy from Southampton will have settled in nicely and be ready to go.

The current squad should be able to finish 5th or 6th this year, which is probably where we should be, and then we can have a real tilt at the top four next season.

Squad size and shifting players will be a problem for a few seasons imo, especially with the kids coming through at the rate they are. It always was going to be despite people thinking we'll shift half a squad in the summer.

I expect at least one of Soldado or ade still to be here next season. The post Bale splurge wasn't thought through properly.

Since redknapp/Modric left we've signed dembele, Holtby, Capoue, Paulinho, stambouli and Eriksen for the 3 cm/am positions with cam arguably being lamela and Chadli 's best position also, when that's a position we're so overloaded in in the academy we often play cm ' s in defence.

Despite signing all them players only one of the first group I mentioned is a nailed on starter.

I would ignore Poch's public comments, they arn't anything to go by really as he'll take the standard line that Levy tells him to.

Now we might end up with no ins, perhaps that's even likely (not counting Yedlin), but I definitely wouldn't read too much into what Poch is saying.

If one of our targets is doable now, I'm sure we'd try to do a deal.

Agreed. I'm not saying that we can believe the opposite, but taking managerial comments as truth in a transfer window is about par with taking tabloid rags as truth.

I think we'll still sell at least three, and maybe a loan or two out. I'm thinking maybe two incomers though, before considering loans in or loanees returning.

The Guardian: James Milner and Manchester City are miles apart in contract discussions and the 29-year old could be on his way out of MCFC

Another donkey....all effort and little talent.
What a load of tosh. He's been one of City's best players this season, which is quite something considering the players they have. His crossing ability is brilliant, he works hard defensively and can work for 90 minutes, and he's extremely versatile.

He is the perfect player for us. I don't think it will happen though.

Oh my god mate I generally like your stuff but I just cannot disagree more. Absolutely top class professional, and it's a shame City have wasted his talents to satisfy their laughable HG count by playing him on the wing, as he was one of the best CM's in the league at Villa.

I would be beyond delighted were we to have a go. Hard-worker, versatile, a winner's mentality, a leader, and very talented. Just the kind of player our young squad could use as we continue to grow in a physically demanding system, especially since both our "captains" are hardly that.

In the shape he's in, and the fact he's never even had a drop of alcohol in his life, I think he could provide top form for another 4-5 years. We may not get a resale, but he'd be well worth what we would pay if we could get him with his contract winding down.

I dont doubt his fitness and condition Im trying to think like levy does and i cant see a deal but who knows.
In all honesty with how well we are doing i really dont see levy purchasing anyone he wont see the need.
