Got a bit of leverage as Juventus are in for Højbjerg reportedly. Would mean we’d have to have someone lined up to replace him too unless we think Bentancur, Skipp and Maddison can hold us together during AFCON?

On Iling-Junior, he appears to be super versatile so would be able to play in forward positions but is trusted up to a point with defensive work as a wing back. Does seem likely it would be him or Nusa.
Personally I’m not entirely convinced by him as a WF option. He hasn’t played much this season but when he has he’s been playing LWB which I think suits him better. If we are interested I’d prefer it if we had an eye on fully converting him to a FB. But I feel like that’s a stretch and think it’s more likely he’d be another young forward option. I’d take Nusa any day tho IF it was a choice between the two.

I don’t really see us splashing the cash on an attacker in Jan unless we sell one or get a major injury. Maybe a youngster but beyond that I don’t see it.
Agreed. Trix said likely Richie moves on though I think. So who knows! We definitely need an elite winger

Apologies if this has been posted elsewhere or if this is the wrong thread (couldn't think of another one that might apply), but I thought this quote from today's Guardian article was interesting:

The Guardian understands that Spurs passed on a player in a specific position this summer after getting the impression he was more driven by getting away from his old club. They signed someone else who Postecoglou could tell was desperate to join.

Of our summer signings (Vicario, Johnson, Van de Ven, Maddison, Veliz, Phillips and Solomon), the only one I can think it could be is Vicario? Maybe Spurs got a feeling Raya just wanted to get away from Brentford?

he is you know!

Originally posted in the Vicario thread, that's a clue🙂

Yep i'd say almost certainly Raya and Vicario.

Saw a random link that had us looking at Ismail Yuksek, a defensive midfielder, from Fenerbahce and it got me thinking that if we're looking in that direction we may be looking at someone like Ferdi Kadioglu who plays as an inverted wingback on the left. Which I feel like is a bigger need for the team and is considered a better prospect than Yuksek.

Obligatory Youtube video:

He just screams Postecoglou wingback to me.

The other thing is how much Fenerbahce and other Super Lig supporters love and respect him, This video isn't worth watching but the comment section is telling:

He's Turkish, so until I see him with the shirt or at Hotspur Way, I'll assume it's a fake link

I think we can survive just about without Bissouma and Sarr at the ACN however Son is going to be a massive problem.

I think we need at least one wing forward if we are going to push Johnson into the middle.

I was thinking Sancho loan with option if we can pull it off but all this talk about the right mental attitude might rule him out now

Definitely need another player capable of playing across the entire forward line. Perisic is likely going to move to Split and, as you said, Son will be a huge miss.

There’s been some talk of Paratici being spotted in an airport after Antonio Nusa had played in the ECL. He’d be an amazing signing.

Sancho on crazy wages too, like 350k per week.

Maybe not for January but I've liked Mbeumo for quite some time now. Pacey, direct, very good end product, knows the league and is in that young veteran range.
