Oh yes he is.

Lo Celso at the point then and Bentancur drops deep
Are we trying to make sure that PEH doesn't play? I am not sure I have much faith in Lo Celso and not sure Bentancur will have the legs to start. Maybe the international break will be kind to us.

MOM according to the media?
I thought he was our best player, stopped a near certain goal 1st half, covered for Dier throughout (who I thought was awful) But the fact he was MoTM when we let in two goals also shows how bad everyone else was, I thought Kulu and Porro put in a decent shift, Johnson got his goal, Vicario a couple of excellent saves, apart from that the rest were awful, Sarr and Son non existent, Bissouma, Hojberg and Royal still doing some stupid stuff, Dier being Dire…

Dier and Davies did look good at defending for spells in the game, and when players are getting stuck in it clouds your view of their limitations. When you sit back and look at what they actually did, it was give the ball back to Wolves with misplaced passes or lose control. They also cant carry the ball forward. So yes you get some decent interceptions and last ditch tackles but there is more to the game than that.

They weren’t the only culprits today, Son gave the ball back to Wolves more times than anyone but he’s not going to be problem over the next couple of months. I’d rather us try youth than have to watch the old guard again.

All that this game has shown is we a far away off competing for anything.... however we still have a fair amount of squad building to do... need around 3 in tje January window and another 4 in the Summer window.

Players to sell at the end of the season

Dier free, Davies, Hojbjerg, Royal, Richarlison and even Lo Celso.

We're in trouble unless Lo Celso finally becomes the player we hoped for in 2019.

There's no penetrating passes in the midfield without Maddison. Bissouma, Sarr and Bentancur can carry the ball well but the final pass is safe more often than not. We need someone who sees the eye of the needle ball and can play it. For the last few years Kane linked up with Son maginficently so that hole in midfield was covered up by our striker. Maddison instant impact is now curtailed and we instantly look worse off.

Give Donley a go.

If anyone deserves blame it's Levy for leaving us with such a paper thin squad; Always just an injury away from fielding Davies/PEH/Dier.

They are all limited players and we knew that going into the season.

As a season ticket holder of thirty five plus years, I cannot remember the last time we had three "first team" defenders out.

You can carry one or two maybe, but trying to replace two of the leagues best center backs?

Before you start about strength in depth, we won't be buying another Romero or Micky to bench warm in January or next Summer.

I don't think even City, Scouse, or Woolwich have that strength in quality with their centre halves, outside of their starting pair, but i may be wrong.

i guess there are two ways Ange could go with this. Play the youth instead of Dier, Davies and PEH and watch the team perform inconsistently and make mistakes etc. or play the deadwood and perhaps get slightly better or similar results.

Personally I'm all for seeing more youth. We may even unearth a diamond like Kane. You know what you're going to get with the deadwood but if they're playing then they're unlikely to agitate for a transfer and could be difficult to get rid of. By the way, if we were being harsh and honest (hand on heart), we could include quite a few players who are not of the required standard.

City do, but they are the only ones. Many on here cannot grasp the concept of having to use the squad .

There are times to slow it right down, make it stop start, and see out the game for at least a point. Not playing high risk passes straight after winning a free kick. Same with goal kicks. Just slow it down boys, we won’t think any less of you.

There was always going to be bumps in the road. We’re right at the beginning of a journey and the squad is paper thin. As frustrating as it is people need to keep some perspective.

The frustration is everyone knew we needed at least 2 quality CBs this summer. It didn't happen and now we're paying the price.

The club knew Hojbjerg wasn't the right profile for Ange yet spent all summer trying to get optimal value for him rather than taking a small hit to fins a more suitable profile.

Yes it's a process and patience is needed but these issues were areas the club clearly identified as a priority even before Ange was appointed.

The consequences of negligence and could cost us top 4 imo.

Phillips & Lo Celso.
I would also like to see the Youth given some minutes.
Honestly pal, the gap is massive.

le celso didn’t do too badly tbf, but yourh, wouldn’t be fair to stick them into team that’s so under populated by first team players at the moment

We're in big trouble lads
Not so sure about that , the start we made and the points we got in the first 10 gives us a bit of tolerance for a poor run
The concern was always the first couple of months while we change our philosophy and lost our best player
Thank god for that start
