Any news on the Ronaldo injury? Last I heard there were rumours that he wouldn't play, in which case I'd actually put USA as favourites tonight.

sounds like our belgian lads have all been dropped, unconfirmed yet though. would seriously dent my interest in the first game if true.

Dropping Vertonghen for Vermaelen at left-back makes absolutely no sense. At least start Vertonghen at centre-back if you're going to do that. Mertens for Chadli is a no brainer. Mertens is an outstanding player. Dembele for Fellaini also makes some sense given the last game, but Dembele's dribbling could help Belgian keep possession against Russia.

Everything we're hearing in the US is that he will play.

To be honest Belgium improved hugely after the changes against Algeria.

Really hope Mertens is playing, class player.

Think they'll be handsome winners today against a very average Russian team.

3-0 or 3-1 for me.

Im Belgian,, and to be fair all 3 were very pool. Public opinion here in Belgium also expected the 3 to be dropped. Vertonghen is just so lazy.
Dembele and Chadli certainly deserve to be dropped, and as for Vertonghen I think his laziness stems from him not wanting to play LB, which is just unprofessional. I understand the decision.

Well i am entirely out of love with our Belgians. Not suprised they are all dropped, there is something deeply deeply wrong with our squad, it's in teh attitude, and these guys i would wager are at the heart of it.

I backed Belgium to win this tournament before it started, and I still believe they've got every chance with the way things have broken down. If the USA gets through, then Belgium will have a straight shot to the quarterfinals to face an Argentina team that Belgium matches up very favorably with.

As for the dropping of our players, it's not surprising, but let's not overreact. Lukaku was arguably the worst player on the pitch for Belgium in the first game. Wilmots will give all three of our guys a chance as subs or starters again in this tournament.

Russia arn't starting Dzagoev again....Jesus, they only started to play a bit when he came on against South Korea.

Incredible really, they were so poor until he came on.

I think Capello is going to play for the draw and hope to go for it against Algeria.
