Kane was mostly quiet but a huge threat when brought into play.

Kane looks sharp and mobile but he hasn’t exactly been scoring goals or looking like he’s always going to score which was his trademark for so long.

Is it our shape? The accursed diamond? Moura?

Take a chill pill people these are just preseason fitness exercises with a knockabout game thrown for good measure to sell tickets!

Not sure but he definitely found it hard to get into the game today. I think it’s due in part to the opposition cacking it when he gets the ball. His all round play is now at such a level that he offers more than goals and teams will focus on nullifying his threat. The challenge then is for the others to bring themselves into the game and capitalise on that.

just home from the game (that was a nightmare journey)

Well, it was a bit of a dull match to be honest, started brightly but they were much sharper and it was clear who had just played 3 matches in a week. The team looked a little jaded and I dont see why we enter this audi cup , well I do money but 2 games in 2 days is ridiculous against that sort of opposition.

Anyway on to today match, we played oK in first half and could have scored a couple, but they could have too. The 2nd half was well dull to say the least, we had a good chance when their keeper miskicked and Eriksen just had to curl it in but decided to pass. Eriksen doesn't want to be here, sorry to those fans who think he does, but he doesn't. There was no clapping fans when he was warming up, his head was down, he kept throwing his arms in the air, and then there was the penalty again. we need to accept he doesn't want to be here and let him go.

Toby on the other hand was class again and if he wants to go he goes with my blessing as he is at least putting an effort in, unlike Eriksen.

Lamela had a good first 30 mins but was so frustrating after then with heavy touches and constant fouling, albeit they were diving a lot, but Lamela would have been booked as a minimum today in a competitive match

Kane tried hard but didn't look like scoring once today, he was well managed by their defence.

KWP looked Ok especially when running with the ball, but again couldnt clear the first man with any of his crossing which was frustrating.

Overall it is a preseason match so you cant look much into it but we tried, it was a bit of a worry as when Winks went off he had a great big bag of ice put on his knee so fingers crossed he is OK.

Dele is crocked again...

Good news - Ndombele looked a beast, very compsed and looked one of our better players. We have to up it next Sat though if we want to beat Villa, that performance today again and we drop points next sat

Finally the atmosphere today - shocking, worse than old WHL. It was a family day out it seemed with a lot of families so prob why but the atmosphere was silence, a few of us tried but couldnt get anything going, it made Wembley look good, that's how bad it was!

Eriksen needs to go. Heart is not in it anymore and just sort of going with the stride of things. We need someone whose going to work hard physically for the team, cant carry people like they use to back in the day. All 11 players need to put in the hard graft.

Inter started their preseason 10 days before us according to Poch. Probably why they looked a bit more “on it” today than us. Plus we had those two games in two days of course.

I'm going to put this here, rather then the youth thread, but it gives me a headache when I see Marsh, Georgiou & N'koudo getting lots of opportunities in pre-season and do not see players like Pritchard, Edwards, Onomah and even Bennetts not previously given the same chances.

Everyone has the same chance on the training pitches. Put in the hard work and you could get your chance.

We’ve become a bit England like when it comes to Kane. Certainly with the line up today. Failing to play to his strengths.

I don’t like Lamela or Moura ( to be honest ) playing with Kane. Eriksen, Dele and Son, yes.

It's a bring your kids picnic day. Not the day to judge the atmosphere I fairness.

Can only judge the atmosphere of the new stadium properly if we lose the first game with a bench of academy players.

Kane hasn't looked truly threatening for months. Still clinical but not looking as unplayable for centre backs as he once did.

He used to bully opposing centre backs. Not sure what has happened.

It was a low-tempo friendly. Let's see how he looks when we're back in the full swing of the Premier League.

Well that went well, telling everyone Levy is in Miami has gone down like a shit sandwich.
You know who is in Miami? Someone who can play right-mid, pretty decent on free kicks, someone Poch knows....Levy has gone to sign David Beckham

real shame that Son and Dele will both be missing probably first 2 games and , even if we sign GLC or BF, they are unlikely to be involved. As for Eriksen, it doesn't seem to be us that is preventing him from leaving, simply a lack of serious suitors

He used to bully opposing centre backs. Not sure what has happened.

Bullying opponents would maybe be the first thing to get dropped from your game when you're not both fully fit, and also up to speed from a long run of games. If you need to manage your physical output the lowest reward exertions would be the ones to not bother with.

Is bullying centre backs as high reward exertion as positioning, movement, skill based possession, etc and so on? There are lots of strong but unskilful CFs who can do all that stuff but play at much lower levels. I can imagine him consciously playing within his shell a bit to get things in order before trying to exert physical dominance over defenders to the point they crumble.

Inter were great today with the way they switched play quickly to get in behind our back 4s it caused us a lot of problems especially when Verts went off. Was actually a really useful friendly to have just before the main match next week.
