He’s going to be class if he gets pitch time.
I didn't get to watch the game so this gives me some hope. As does the story suggesting we turned down several offers for KWP. I may have missed a longer post reviewing his play....any top line thoughts you can share...particularly the positives :)

He was caught out by the runner for Inter’s goal, but aside from that he held a great line with the defence all game, never got done for pace, read the game well and linked nicely with the attack with a few nice bits of skill on the byline. Looked as confident as I’ve seen him.

I don’t know how anybody can have watched Walker-Peters today and not be excited by his potential.

Inter didn’t get out of second gear and barely attacked him and he still struggled massively positionally. Sissoko then Toby did a hell of a lot of covering for him. He did do great going forwarded but I don’t think he’s a defender.

Why we haven’t gone for Doherty at wolves is beyond me. We can’t even sign Aarans from Norwich? I don’t believe it. Sure it might cost around 30/40m but that’s the going rate. I bet the other champions league clubs would get the deal done if they desperately needed a RB like we do.

Doherty was on loan at Wolves then signed permanently, Aarons signed a new deal. Neither were moving this summer.

3 at the back on sat if aurier still inj KWP can get away with it as a wing back.

Can't see it, even though personnel wise with the current injuries it's the best fit, Poch has been shoehorning the diamond all summer.

Then I'd put Sissoko on the right side. Capable of playing there imo

I'd say the only reason to play 3 atb is because of concern about our full backs defensive ability and also the upside of KWP prowess at getting forward, I'd say that Sissoko's worst attributes are his attacking ability so for me it wouldn't work with him in that Wing back position.

Can't be any worse than Kyle Walker attacking wise.

Shock horror, defense covers for attacking full back.
Who knew.
Inter took time to get into the game
as we were excellent especially
for the first half hour.
KWP and Lamela particularly.
Covered defended and passed well.

Their goal was brilliant
and unlucky not to score
from the shot that hit the inside of the post.

But you know the game is over
when you see clutches of subs pouring on
(Five I counted at one point)

Like the boy.
Gonna need him with Trippier gone, Aurier, Foyth injured.

Covering when he’s bombing forward is one thing, having to continually cover when we’re defending as he’s let his man go is another. I focused on him the whole match and his positioning and reading of the play was not good.

Do you think that's a symptom of a player who at his age should have been somewhere playing significantly more games and there's a possibility that with time he can grasp this stuff or do you think it's a case of he's unlikely to be our long term solution.

We have 3 (three) right backs at the club and a further 3 who can deputise if we really are down to bare bones, we're just not going to sign yet another RB, it's just absolutely pointless and furthermore the last RB we signed isn't exactly setting the world alight.

It's just not going to happen.

Apols for not reading all 28 pages, went to the match yesterday and my first visit to the stadium...wow.

It's nigh on impossible to describe just how good the stadium is without repeating what has been said in other threads but hopefully, without sounding cliche and douchebaggy, I'll try.

I'm shit at heights, genuinely hate them and always struggled at Wembley in the gods but it really didn't affect me, I'm not sure if it's the angle or just because it was "home" but it really didn't affect me, even though I was as high up as at Wembley and made my personal experience infinitely more enjoyable.

My brother who had been to the old WHL for some games (to my shame I only did the tour) said that it still has the WHL feel, which is echoed by players and fans alike.

The staff were all friendly, helpful, happy and smiling. With some clever flag wearing staff outside directing and answering questions from the many tourists that were there (which did affect the atmosphere a bit tbh) but really shows how the stadium has become a destination in London and so it should be, I expect the business' surrounding and Tottenham in general to get a massive cash injection.

The food whilst pricey was excellent and a beer £4, which is decent.

My advice, don't just leave not only do you avoid the crush but there's plenty to see and so many little fine touches to make the day out an experience rather than 90 minutes of football, there's history there which is so rare and almost impossible in a new build but somehow the architects and THFC have managed it.

It's a cash cow, genuinely our revenue from the place is going to generate so much money, not only were most of the bars and restaurants full an hour + after the match but the store too, people in front of me at the queue for the shop were literally spending hundreds of £'s, club revenue is going to increase dramatically and not just from the increased capacity, add into that the NFL games and signings, bigger contracts etc are very much on their way imho.

The game, it was a pre-season friendly so meh...saying that, Winks is really becoming a top player and was always the man who was showing, both to spark an attack and also to other an option if the attack breaks down. KWP is young and can be found out but is learning fast and others so much more going forward than Trippier ever could, he will need help defensively but then so does Rose, it's the way we advance our fullbacks and how Poch wants us to play so singling him out is a bit unfair, I don't believe he was beaten in a 1 on 1 all match. Ndombele has a weird jogging style but when he turns it on, amazing. Lamela is so keen and sometimes too keen, leading to some stupid fouls but I'd rather that than Eriksen who still doesn't look like he's at the club. I genuinely believe Eriksen is our most talented footballer but he really needs to sign that new contract.

Anyway COYS
