I'd love to go to either/both the games but finances will not allow. Still haven't been to Croker :-(

Croker is a GAA stadium. Soccer pitch too small compared to GAA pitch so crowd is too far from pitch. Also, its never full for soccer matches. Won't miss it at all. Better athmosphere at Tallaght stadium for a Rovers V Bohs match.

I've managed to get tickets!:dance: It'll be my fourth time going to see a soccer match at Croke Park. I've been to more soccer matches there than GAA matches.

I agree with Caco. The atmosphere is a bit shit. The first match I went to at Croke Park had a good enough atmosphere, but the rest have been poor. I suppose the way we play doesn't give the crowd much excitement.

Strange, my mate said the atmosphere at the Italy game was the best he'd ever heard at CP, even ahead of GAA games.

Nice job getting the tickets anyway lads.

The atmosphere when we scored late on was tasty, but it didn't last very long!:bang:

When we played Poland in a friendly it was a good atmosphere, but that was because there was about 20,000 poles in the stadium.

So what's the view on the Ireland-France game? Facing up to Henry, Benzema, Anelka and Ribery I really didn't rate the chances of Richard Dunne and co to hold the fort and scrape a victory. Now that Ribery's injured, that's still a pretty hairy looking attacking lineup.

But as this World Cup blog on Ireland vs France considers 6 reasons why Ireland can win, not even taking onto account Domenech's penchant for picking players according to astrology!

We all know how poor Keane has looked in recent months(/years), but he often has a knack of pulling it out for his country. Anyone fancy the upset?

Would be no upset mate. We're unbeaten in qualifying so far.

We can't afford to do what we did against Italy last game though. We should have beaten them.

Given, Dunne, Duff and Keane need to produce massive, massive performances on Saturday. Given and Dunne have always done it for us. Keane and Duff usually can pull it out of the bag too.

I'm excited. :)

Also, great article on our captain in the Indo the other day, which could be good for a few on here to read too.

dunne and given are rocks for us so there is no worry that they wont perform the same as always. as SM said we need the old duff and an up for it keane to have a chance at beating them. the french are in the play offs for a reason and they've had some v v bad results in group stage so we shouldnt fear them and i dont think we do.
it'll be an extremely tough game but trap will have a good system worked out so we're relying on keane and duff to produce some of tha magic we know they can do

Absolutely hilarious! If that's real then this gives me hope for international diplomacy. Funniest thing I've read in ages.

Never been to a soccer match at Croker, but the best atmosphere I've ever experienced was in Croker a couple of years ago, Tyrone against the Dubs, the place was electric and you could feel the roar coming from the Canal end, along the Hogan and back towards the hill, the hairs on my neck where literally standing on end. I've never experienced anything like that before or since.
Been to Landsdowne a fair few times to watch soccer, the Holland game stands out the criac was mighty before and after, think that might have been the same day England beat Germany 5-1.
Just hope the boys can do the business tomorrow. COYBIG

The Holland game where McAteer scored? That was the day England lost to Germany, last game at the Old Wembley, Keegan resigned :)

You know, I had Ireland down for this all the way.

Then you look at the line ups and kinda wonder how on earth France ended up in the play offs.

Fucking hope Ireland knock em out.

I'm irish for the day tomorrow.

Anytime buddy.

Not that I'll make a difference.

I reckon tomorrow is key.

If you can get the win tomorrow, that will heap the pressure on the French team - massivly.

il second that call, cheers shanks we need all the help we can get!

if we stop them scoring tomorrow the pressure will be too much for them in paris and i reckon we'd go through.

just hope france dont turn up tomorrow, if they do they could do us some serious damage!
