Although we have Belgium covered.

I agree that Henderson v Wilshere is up for debate, and a lot will depend on Wilshere's fitness. But when he's on form, the little git is a great player and is very good at linking midfield and attack. I wouldn't be disappointed to see Henderson in there though...he's had a great season.

As for not playing Sturridge, surely that would be a bit bizarre considering how well he's played this season. I think Rooney and Sturridge can linkup like Suarez and Sturridge do at Liverpool. Whilst I really like Barkley, I think Rooney is at his best in that second striker role (and he hasn't played upfront on his own much this season at all) so, again if he's fit, he'd get the nod for me.

We will have some decent impact subs as well with the likes of Barkley, Lambert, Lampard and Oxlade-Chamberlain.

For me its about balance though, not just looking at individuals. Wilshere is undoubtedly a very good player but in terms of the best overall midfield choice and when you consider Gerrard can't get about the pitch as much he'll need someone in beside him who can put the work in. I'm not sure Wilshere excels in that. I suppose, like anything, there is no ideal answer because different situations warrant different approaches but in the opening game its what I would do. And they've worked very well together for Liverpool although you could argue Pool still shipped a fair few goals.

I just think possession is very important in these big tournaments, which Wilshere obviously would help with, and we'll need to be able to keep it well in that sort of heat but, that was my thinking behind playing Rooney up top with Barkley in behind.

Back to Wilshere, I know he'd obviously improves us in terms of possession but I just think pairing him with Gerrard, who's older now, coupled with his injury problems is risky. Particularly when you consider Wilshere wouldn't offer the same level of commitment off the ball. I'm thinking Henderson could bring the same sort or work rate/ability for doing all that unsung work that Park did for United to great affect.

Rooney is obviously best as a number ten so Barkley really is his back up but its an interesting proposition regardless as I think Barkley is the one who could have most impact for England this summer. His running power and dribbling ability is insane, and that's what could open up team for others to profit.

Am I right in thinking there's about 6 Spurs players participating in the world cup?

Lloris
Chadli
Dembele
Verts
Bentaleb
Paulinho

Is that our lot? Im assuming Capoue and Lamela wont make their respective squads?

BAE might make the Cameroon squad.

Or, a 4-3-3

Hart

Johnson
Jagielka
Cahill
Baines

Gerrard
Wilshere/Henderson
Barkley

Sterling
Rooney
Lallana

That ain't half bad looking.

That would be my pick. I can see Lallana, Wellbeck the Ox and BarKley as impact subs. Expect Milner to probably play as a 'proper sort' type option but in reality Gerrard can play the deeper role with the legs of wilsher and henderson in front of him. Front 3 being Liverpools with Roo in for Suarez i think will work pretty well. Lampard on the bench as a good pro for backup. Could be a team to get us out of the group but i think we are too thin to go any further than first round of knockouts. Any injury to cahil or Jag and that is the cup over (strange there is no 3rd choice CB only the United 'cover' players). Sad to see no Spurs after a few years of multiple players (4-6) in most squads, something we need to address though youth development or purchase of next gen.

Heard Balague say on the Spanish football last night that the Argentinian coach is fiercely loyal to the squad of players who secured qualification for the World Cup. Really hope that loyalty extends to Lamela, the boy is due a bit of luck.

I really hope Hull beat Arsenal and after the match Huddlestone say fuck you ROY!

He has been great for Hull but because he plays for a rubbish team he gets penalised whereas Cleverly, Jones, Welbeck and Smalling all have been utter dog shite for United this season but get bonus points for playing for united

Got to have Sturridge in IMO

I understand most people will have him starting and I can understand that - his finishing and ability to stretch defenses etc, which to be fair he's done very well this season.

I just like to think outside the box a bit, and think of the overall team dynamic etc.

Lol at BAE's club being QPR. Shouldnt the club he's signed to be named as his club? Unfortunately, he's still technically a Spurs player.
