No, the odd useful long throw isn't enough for us to need him.

I would buy him, yes, chop his arms off and graft them onto the far superior footballers we have in our squad, best of both worlds.

Nope because he's actually a pretty naff/rubbish footballer. He just has an exceptional throw. They won't be able to rely on that all year though.

I dont see why they won't be able to rely on it all year, all the teams know its coming now but still it can't be defended, with the right strikers i reckon it almost guarantees you a goal a game... in answer yes i probably would, it wouldn't be pretty or fashionable but it would be effective.

no, he's like a kicker in the nfl, only good for his special ability, apart from his throw he doesnt do much else ( with the exception of his goal against us lol)

you can imagine stokes training everyone else doing normal training and him just throwing balls for 2 hours a day ( the kicker from waterboy, special team run laps, ........ anyone?)

Aye. If you think about the possibilities of it; near post, far post, floated high, low with pace, in many ways it's better than a corner, and a lot more accurate. Plus, as they stated on MOTD, the defence will be caught out because you can't play the off-side trap from a throw-in.

Imo it is definately better than a corner because its more accurate. The only way it can be defended is to get infront of the attacker and get to the ball first, easier said than done when the guy you are trying to get round is 6'4 and 15 stone! Even if you take that approach you've either got to go over the top and risk a pen or let the attacker get goal side, neither preferable but if you don't win the first ball and it gets flicked on then it really is a lottery.

Like i said though the difference between the throw in and a corner is the accuracy, delap can literally put it on the head of an attacker at pace. its like having the perfect cross everytime. Also there is the frequency that the tactic can be used, maybe 20 in a game aposed to 7-10 corners. I think we'll see more players being trained to do this.

No but id definatly look into this as a preferable skill for a player to have. For example Bentley was bought because he is a good player but also to solve the problem of set-pieces. There must be hundreds of players with this skill around europe and beyond, and maybe not been publicised due to it not being a fashionable tactic used.
