I don't watch much DE football but when he plays he is a certain type of player nothing like Sigurdsson, you could make some slight comparisons to GDS but Bayern didn't buy GDS they bought Shaqiri because in the CL he looked the bollox playing for Basel. He is also as strong as an Ox isn't he named the Cube or something in DE? He to me is much more like a Hazard and with a run in a team where they want him I think he could be that good at least. :)

I think you're missing the point, I'm saying that it's unwise to judge players at International level. Anyway, there's clearly no changing your mind as you just disregarding what people who actually watch him for Bayern are telling you :p

Tell you what @poc , I've leave with you this, see if this changes your mind ;) I'm sure I'll miss a couple but off the top of my head, these are the most recent notable transfers from the Bundesliga to the Premiership

Schürrle
Holtby
Marin
Kagawa
Sahin
(i'll include as he was moulded in the Bundesliga)
Özil (see above)
Arnautovic
Mertesacker
Riether
Dzeko
Kompany
Podolski
Eisfeld
Yesil

Aside from Kompany, Dzeko and Arnautovic none of these transfers have come off. Despite the number of people who'll tell you the two leagues are very similar, I'm still not convinced that they're compatible..

Hey Lufti I get what you have said but it doesn't change the fact I fundamentally do not accept Shaqiri has had a fair crack of the whip at Bayern because of their status, existing players, maybe the coach doesn't like him or maybe he does have an attitude? I don't know. But what I believe is when I saw him primarily for Basel and Switzerland he looks fantastic, not just good but a truly world class player. I could be wrong and so could you and American? I wont go through your list one by one but I undesrstand your point. Anyway I said I was done and you drew me in again :)!!

Id be surprised if we were in for him, Pochettino seems to value work ethic and attitude more than anything and thats precisely what Shaqiri lacks.

How may consecutive gAmes has he started? He is almost always a sub. Or at least that was my understandingaybe someone who watches DE football can tell me I'm wrong and he's actually a regular starter and got 15 games straight?

Just a question, but do you defend Soldado in the same way? Or is he a failure & a waste of £26mil?

Since it was a question.

Yes, I have done/did.

There are some differences though.

Shaqiri was a lot younger
Shaqiri I think had a bad injury (could be wrong im sure Lufti will correct me :)
We are not Bayern
Soldado was given the chance to be top dog.

I still think Soldado is a good player but for a number of reasons it hasn't worked out and now confidence is gone.

One of the main issues several of our players have bombed is for me round pegs in square holes, the manager needs to invest in players that fit his style not have someone purchased for him and told there you go get on with that.

I like everyone really wanted Soldado to be a 25-30 a year man.

He isn't good enough to start at Bayern, and his poor performances for the side when he is played is not helping him displace any player.

Most bayern fans I've talked with tend to agree with this view

From one particular fan:

"I know he hasn't gotten much game time, but when he plays, there's barely anything memorable about his performance apart from some nice passes and a good run from time to time. However, most of the time it is very frustrating to watch. Very often, when we're starting an attack and he gets a ball, I know nothing is going to happen. He dribbles past a few players which is okay, but instead of doing something productive, he either shoots from unreasonable positions (which is especially annoying when there are 4 players in a better position), or continues dribbling until he loses the ball or finds himself in a position where all he can do is a back pass. This happens from time to time for other players too. But with him, it happens way too often. Some may say this is only linked to the fact that he doesn't play enough to get a good run of form. However, this isn't how things work at a big club. If you get opportunities but don't show your quality, that's it."

In 2012/13, he did get quite a few runs in games, and he had a decent season. But, even then, he only had 4 goals and 6 assists in 1,374 minutes of gameplay. That's only a goal or assist in 1.5 games in a Bayern side that scored 98 goals and finished on 99 points (second was 66 pts).

Sounds like a swiss Andros Townsend to me.

2 mil loan, with a future fee of 12 mil and extra if Inter qualify for CL. Looking forward to seeing what he can do at the Nerazzurri, good move for both parties.

I've never been impressed with him whenever I've seen him play. I don't understand the excitement at all.
