I remember the atmosphere being great for the game vs Inter in Europa League (2012). We absolutely battered them and it could have been 5 or 6-0 but ended 3-0. Just scrapped through the away game in extra time.

Slavia Prague away in the Uefa Cup on Valentines day was good fun. -18c standing on a terrace whilst all the Spurs subs were huddled under duvets on the bench! Awful game though :)

My perception from a person who's living abroad is that football in England was way more violent back in the days than it is today. Is this correct? I don't think I have seen even a glimpse of violence when attending games but maybe I have just been spared. Would be interesting to know though.
From the late 60s through to the 80s it was bad inside and particularly outside grounds. It is rarely a concern nowdays. I dont know if you are familiar with the late 70s films Warriors? That was what it felt like travelling around London on the tube back.in the day. Say I was going to QPR you might bump into West Ham, Millwall or Chelsea nutcases. Or Manchester United, Leeds or Liverpool if they were in town. This would be repeated on my journey back to the east end to get my train back to Southend in Essex. A few times. A few times West Ham supporters were waiting for me/us at Liverpool Street or if I.went home via Fenchurch Street that might be ructions all the way back Southend. Great days!

Wow, interesting stuff. It seems like much has changed today as I have been walking down the High Road with rival fans literally a few feet away without any problems at all. Is it the CCTV's that has stopped much of the violence? I think I read somewhere that since then there has been some law changes for football related offences.

My first ever trip to WHL in 2004 and the 4-4 game against Leicester.

Was a comedy of errors for some of the goals, we went 3-1 up and they had Dickov sent off, so lots of "Dickov you're a ****, Dickov, Dickov you're a ****" and "cheerio, cheerio, cheerio", which I'm convinced I started lolz.... then someone started singing, "you'll never score 4" thanks to the Man City FA cup game a few weeks before when we were 3-0 up at half-time and they had a player sent off, oh how we laughed.... until they did score a 4th to take the lead...

Thankfully Defoe banged in the equalizer in the last minute and everyone went nuts. Great game and a rollercoaster with emotions and some very funny chants / moments

CCTV and heavy sentences for anyone involved.

Giving it large to Liam Gallagher.
Yeah great! We were right below him on the shelf in the seats. most of the coins aimed at him probably hit me. Porky parry was also in that same box a year or two before when he 'tried to climb out' as a joke and have a go!

For me it was when I took my son to his first game at the lane , he was 9 and as he surveyed the pitch and stadium he turned to me a said " this is the best day of my life dad" bless, we then preceded to get beat 1-0 by villa (benteke out jumped Fazio ,Tim was manager)
And he got Danny Rose, Capoue and Bentalebs autographs lol, he still talks about that day despite being at the lane /wembley and new stadium plenty more times

For me it is this. Our first game at the new stadium in the Champions League, our second game at the new stadium as well! Fantastic atmosphere, Hugo saving the penalty, Kane going off injured, and then Son scoring. Absolutely buzzing the whole night. This is a memory that will stay with me forever, what a run to the final!
