I'd play Tripps because he stepped up massively in the second half.

Did anyone else take Poch’s comment pre Ajax that “Aurier is fit but not here” comment as his way of saying that he’s on the naughty list. If he doesn’t get a place in the squad on Sunday then I’m pretty sure that’s it for Serge and therefore we have no other option than to start Tripps in the final.

Yep, thought exactly the same thing about the comment regarding Aurier.

No I took it as he's injury free and just returned to training and it's better for him to stay at home and prepare for Sunday.

Lloris
Toby,Sanchez,Jan,
Sissoko,Winks,Eriksen,Rose
Lucas,Dele,
Kane/Son

Threat of Robertson & TAA has to be neutralised in the flanks. The only way to do IMO, is to put 2 strong runners in Wing backs. I would drop Trippier & play Sissoko as RWB.

It would be unfair on Lucas to drop him after the semi heroics. So, Son or Moura means I would pick Moura.
My understanding from report is Winks will be fit for final. Incase Kane is not 100%, then I wont think twice to play Son instead of Kane.
If Kane is fit ,he starts ahead of Sonny.

No wing backs, we need both FB and Wingers to nullify them otherwise we're liable on the overload/overlap.

Possible, or the plan could have been to play him on Sunday with a view to a potential final slot against Mane. Guess we'll find out if KWP or Foyth play on Sunday ahead of him. If Tripps is playing the final I suspect Poch will give KWP a run out.

If we have proper RB, I would agree with you. Trippier almost single handedly lost the semis for us.
No point going to a back4 & playing Trippier. Rather I would play Sissoko who has been used in RWB against Robertson.

Except our wingbacks wouldn't be up against their fullbacks.

What will happen is what happened last time, and most times we come up against a 4-3-3. You immediately drop to a back five because the centre backs don't want to be left 3 vs 3 at the back, especially with space in the channels, and so the fullback is always open for the switch of play which we're then scrambling to deal with. The wingback is unsure whether to step out, and the narrow midfield is chasing across, getting knackered, and leaving their own men to try and help out.

Kane has to play if fit but I wouldnt drop Lucas - how can you?

Potentially you will need to drop Son to fit everyone else in eg Dele and Eriksen. Winks should be back.

Id also play Aurier as I think Trippier is going to get an ass whooping.

Personally I think we have no chance without Dele playing. Moura took the headlines but Dele was excellent throughout the match. He has had to work hard out of position in recent weeks and credit to him, but when he is playing in the more offensive role he is crucial to our team. There were two moments of true genius which took us the final. The first was Moura's second goal, the close control and footwork is Messi on a good day, but then he actually nutmegs De Jong with the shot! It is just unbelievable. But the second moment of total genius which no-one seems to have given enough attention to is Dele Alli's pass for the winning goal. The ball is coming towards him and he knows he will get a touch. Llorente is covered, so he lets himself fall backwards, off-balance, to gain a second and draw in two of the Ajax players, he sees Lucas' run in his peripheral vision, how I don't know, and has the awareness to flick the ball, not towards Lucas, but in between the only two Ajax players who could stop it, the pass weighted so perfectly that neither of them can reach it and Lucas can get to it first. The ball almost stops just out of reach of the two Ajax players and Moura doesn't even need to take a touch, just swipe it towards the goal. The more I see it the more it astonishes me. That is very rare, intuitive footballing intelligence. Dele has to be one of the first names on the team sheet.

Is Sissoko disciplined enough to play as a holding midfielder against Liverpool?
Think I'd go

Lloris
Aurier-Toby-Jan-Rose
Dier-Sissoko
Lucas-Eriksen-Alli
Kane
I feel bad for dropping Son, but someone's got to give, and Moura has proven that he truly is a man for the big occasions.

The issue we have is that normally it's been Lucas that has missed out when everyone is fit but how do you leave out the guy that scored a hat-trick to get you to the final and also scored against Liverpool at Anfield!?

So many questions:

- has Moura's goal scoring form been a result of the adapted system since Kane has been out?
- Does Kane come straight back in?
- Do we look to play direct with Llorente up top so as not to go toe to toe with Liverpool?

LFC will want us to try and play them at their game. Being direct has worked for us this season so maybe it's the best option to winning this one game.

Not gonna attempt to name a lineup, I just desperately hope Winks is fit to play with Sissoko but moreover we need to get our game right tactically to allow us to play like we did in 2nd half at Anfield and we need to do a much better job of not conceding early - this has been the ongoing theme of our time in CL this season.

We can beat Liverpool but we might have to do something outside of our usual game to do it. Poch and his staff need to look at what has worked vs LFC this season both for us and other teams and replicate it. They've beaten us twice in the league, comfortably at Wembley and luckily at Anfield. They are favourites but there is no reason why we can't do this.

Can you just imagine...... Tottenham Hotspur are the champions of Europe! Gives you goosebumps, doesn't it?
