If Winks and Kane are fit they both need to play.

It will come down to Son or Lucus. Lucas Kane Erisken got us out the group stages. Son got us to the QF and SF and Lucas got us to the Final

Tough tough call

Trippier v Aurier. Aurier is the better player but I just cant rely on him

Not sure if this has been mentioned but we're allowed to name 12 subs for the final as opposed to your usual 7

I know the Everton game comes first but ideally, who would you pick... Just for a bit of fun now.

My team would be, bearing in mind its Liverpool and assuming Kane is fit:

Lloris

Aurier
Alderweireld
Vertonghen
Rose

Sissoko
Eriksen

Lucas
Dele
Son

Kane
100% agree, unless Aurier not fit then has to be Trippier.

Other option is 4-4-2 diamond and Lucas would have to drop out :( on paper the above is our best team but tactically the diamond may work better vs their 4-3-3... so very tough call.

Lucas cannot be dropped. He has scored some huge goals for us. If you watch the game again, you will see that it was Lucas fighting for the ball in the 94th minute, 3 times, that actually got possession back. That led to the corner, that led to their keeper kicking, and the rest is history.

He has amazing energy and is probably the most quick footed player on either side. I would seriously go to to toe with them rather than hand them the initiative.

In a one off cup game we can beat them.

If Kane does come back I just hope Poch doesn't try the Kane/Lucas pairing up top with the diamond behind. That's looked shit almost every time we've played it and was the formation that led to us getting spanked by Liverpool at Wembley.

We need to give them problems to solve. We dominated the second half of both matches at Anfield over the last 2 seasons, which is not easy, so we have shown that we can do it.

Their whole game is based on being on the front foot and dominating the territorial aspect of the game. We cant allow that.

So we have to be ‘brave’ then ;) fitting I’d say :)

Exactly, they are about high-energy, movement and pace all in the opposition half. They tend to get the 1st goal and continue pushing, but can tire. The longer the final stays 0-0 until the 2nd half. The better for us.

Exactly. That is what happened to Barca. They let them get a head of steam up and couldn't stop them. But we arent Barcelona. Before their semi I wanted barca to win as I thought that we would beat them because they have a soft centre. They cant cope with the intensity and physicality of the top prem teams. We utterly dominated them in the camp nou, yes it wasn't their full team, yes there was nothing riding on it for them, but the fact is we were able to physically dominate them. We should have won comfortably and they were unable to respond.

We cant allow pool to steamroller us. We have to fight fire with fire. Be brave, press, tackle, close down and attack. This is a once in a lifetime game, we cant go out with a whimper.

I believe in this team, we are going to win.

Really need to consider match fitness for our starters. The Harrys might be better utilised off the bench with Lamela and Llorente.

Lloris
Trippier Toby Jan Rose
Sissoko Dier
Eriksen Dele Son
Moura

Gazzaniga, Kane, Winks, Lamela, Llorente, Wanyama, Davies

Any lineup without Lucas is ridiculous.
maybe.

Or maybe a fresh Lucas coming on at 70' could have a run at tired defenders?

You can say the same thing for Son - who has been more consistent throughout the season.

But, I think either Son or Lucas are better options to have on the bench than Dele. Dele is better in long stretches, rather than being someone who can come on at the end of the game to change the team.

I am surprised how many are willing to toss Winks back in - given how rusty he will be, if he is even fit. I'd rather put Eriksen in that role, and have Dele, Lucas and Son playing behind Kane.

Is Sissoko disciplined enough to play as a holding midfielder against Liverpool?[QUOTE
]

this is what I was thinking too. If Sissoko could play the holding role the we could put Eriksen beside him and play Moura, Son, Alli and Kane all in their preferred positions.

That would be some attack

Is it really?

Does he get into our strongest team?
Basesd on Wednesday’s performance, I’d say yes. He’s delivered at Barcelona and Ajax when someone needed to step up. While we really played well in the second half against Ajax, he was on a different level, almost possessed.

It would be lunacy not to play him- his pace, which was lightening on Wednesday, will unsettle their defence, not to mention the morale he brings after that astonishing performance. No question that a fit Moura starts
