Just me that thought Lee Young-Pyo was one of the worst then? I don't remember him all that well but do remember thinking he was awful. As for Robbo, no way! I'd actually take him back now but I'm probably alone in that.

I'll always remember him for elbowing Barton in the face behind the refs back, claret everywhere. Have that Barton!

Well that's worth the same as 10 man of the match performances, and twenty league goals alone.

YP was way better than a lot of people gave him credit for. No frills defending like Salty. Some people seem to think because they don't bomb down the wing they are not good players.

I just didn't want to say somebody everyone else was already nominating, OK? As I say I don't remember him well, I would probably change my opinion if I watched clips back of him but at the time I didn't have any confidence in him, think it was because he only had a right foot.

Atouba for me....Minus that one cracker he scored for us (maybe v newcastle?!) he was total shite. How he played champions league football is beyond me.

Yep Gilberto was truly awful. How he was a regular in the Brazil squad is a total mystery to me.

Atouba is one of the worse defenders I have ever seen, when I think of him I actually cringe

YP Lee? Worst? He had about 2 bad games for us ever! I'd go as far as to say he was one of our better left backs in the last 30 years.

No way is Crouch even in the top 20 worst players for Spurs in the last 20 years! to pick him one would have to either only been watching Spurs for the past 2 seasons or have a personal issue with him.

Bentley for one has been a far worse player than Crouch for Spurs considering his value will now drop to zero and he contributed nothing more than a cross for Pav to score against Bolton and a spectacular goal against Arsenal (where as Crouch has been sold for more than he was bought and scored vital goals in both our CL qualification and run in the competition)

Here are a few players off the top of my head in the last 20 years who were much much worse than Crouch for Spurs.

Dean Austin, Justin Edinburgh, Jason Cundy, Kevin Scott, Stuart Nethercott, Guy Butters, Rory Allen, Neal Fenn, Johnny Jackson, Helder Positga, Sergei Rebrov, Ramon Vega, Saib, Achimovic, Stephen Freund, Toda, Michael Brown, Sean Davis, Andy Reid, Tony Gardner, Phil Ifil, Rohan Ricketts, Atouba , Davenport, Ben thatcher, Jason Doz...ok you get the point

My personal choice for worst player comes down to Rasiak or Doherty

and for never scoring a single goal and generally doing nothing I will have to give it to the kaiser

Has to be Timmy Atouba or Stefen Freund for me.

I still wince everytime i think of Freund picking up the ball from 20yrds out knowing full well he was going to blast it closer to the corner flag or row z every single time.

Campbell - maybe not the worst ever player if I'm honest but easily the worst ever human being to play for us.

Other metions: Jason Cundy, Iversen (the new Klinsmann lol!) , Austin, Andy Reid, The Jap Midfielder and Saib

In more recent years, Gilberto has to get on the list. Bizarre signing, awful player who clearly couldn't cut it in the PL. Although he did manage a goal in our annual mauling of the spammers!

Thing is, even the likes of Gary Doherty, Ramon Vega, Timmy Atouba and Chris Armstrong had highlights although admittedly few and far between, but highlights nonetheless.

However, Gregorz Rasiak was truly an attrocious signing for us and his displays for us were so inept that he actually became midly amusing and as such, from his transfer comes the famous saying "not another Rasiak".

Pound for pound though, you'll be hard pressed to find a worse transfer than David Bentley and I shudder to think how much he has cost this club with such little in way of return - regardless of the goal against Arsenal!

I'm sure that I watched a match in the 90s where our front two was Jurgen Klinsmann and Paul Mahorn.

Surely in the whole of Premiership history there cannot have been a bigger gulf in class between a strike pairing. I felt properly embarassed for Klinsmann.

Depends how you classify. For just one or two games you'd go a long way to beat Andy Booth.

Toda was another awful player!

Unfortunately Jurgen was always going to be in Mahorn's shadow!

Did someone honestly suggest Iversen? The name on my first shirt! Loved him. Phil Ifill and Johnnie Jackson used to make me think that I could play for spurs one day.

Haha that's a great shout! I remember seeing Mahorn come on as a sub vs Fulham in the League Cup and he looked as though he'd never even kicked a ball before- I suspected it was another 'Ali Dia' Southampton situation (i.e he was just a random guy who'd hoodwinked the club into believing he was a professional footballer). Have read through the thread and I'd say that, as far as out right terribleness at football is concerned, Andy Booth and the afore-mentioned Mahon probably take the prize.

It's incredible that our full-back combination of Dean Austin and Justin Edinburgh clocked up as many appearances as they did, considering how consistently abysmal they both were. People who are nominating the likes of Paul Stalteri obviously never saw these clowns play as they were absolutely light-years behind anything we've had in recent times. Nethercott was woeful as well- remember him once completely missing the ball in his own 6 yard box once allowing Matt Le Tisseiur(sp?) to score a last minute winner at the Lane- painful memories....

Armo and Doherty both had good spells, even Vega left some good memory (his bravery, broken footed, effectively won us the 99 league cup). I think Gilberto is one of the worst I've seen, but if we're going to talk about someone who played a lot the it's freund for me. No player's performances have ever irked me more. Cowardly, lacking in any ability, cheated, not my cup of tea at all and the antithesis of everything I hold dear about Spurs and their traditions. That he is in our hall of fame makes our hall of fame a huge joke!

Absolutely gobsmacked.
