I take great exception at seeing J*hn Te**y and Micky Dawson mentioned in the same sentence, regardless of the context.

One less English (home grown) in the 25 man squad...

We only need 8 - Walker Naughton Lennon Parker Livermore Lennon Bale Defoe. Can still offload Hudd, Rose, Bentley and Jenas and meet the quota

Apparently Gylfi fits in there too because he was over here at the age of 16.

It's what AVB is spouting - why else is he up for sale?

The BBC story says Dawson was told he would be third choice.

Quite obviously he's not going to be behind Caulker if nothing else, that's ridiculous.

Saturday would suggest he was 4th choice surely? If not 5th, as he didn't even make the travelling party.

I'm only going by what the BBC story says, they tend to make sure before they print stuff. Ridiculous either way IMO to be honest.

Behind kaboul and jan? I'd say that's the best he could have hoped for. He was third choice last season as well I'd say, it's just that first choice was rarely fit.

I wonder if we will replace him with carvallho on a free? I think we need 5.

Very sad to see daws leave, always loved watching him play. He's a ball magnet in the box, heading, blocking, hurling himself at the ball.

He was on Saturday unless the story of a bereavement was true. Whatever anyone thinks it's clear the club are willing to sell him and that must mean the manager and chairman are in agreement and for the right money are happy to do it.

Not sure what you are trying to say?

It's ridiculous that he's been told he's 3rd choice and ridiculous that he's 4th or 5th choice?

So so think he should be a first choice CB?

I was sad to here this .. and i execpted he is unhappy after Vertongen arrival and dropped as 3rd in pecking order..

i don't know why he is selflesh Dawson, year ago we really missed him due to his injuries, having 3 good CBs is always good in modern football, and we can see Vidic/Ferdinand/Jones at Man Utd, Terry/Luis/Cahill at Chelsea ..
and in my opinion he would have better to play compared to other CBs in other clubs, as any of the back four is missed for sus or injury etc.. he would def. play, considering we'll switch Kaboul to RB if Walker unavailable, Vert to LB if Ekotto isnt available, while also Kaboul/Vert if one of them unavailable, even Cuelker had decent chance if Dawson stays !

this decision wouldn't be good for him, as well as Tottenham. He shouldn't think we are the only ones who would miss him, he would go to lower reputatution club, and he wouldn't have the same fans support..

Or maybe QPR had already put an offer in. You can't think too much of who traveled on sat.

Always loved Dawson, always gave 110%.

With Cahill rated 20m pounds along with Jagelka, and Lescott being worth 24m. I'm pretty sure we could have 15m. I'm pretty sure Curtis Davies went for less than the Dawson fee

My old man just rung me and had a melt down on the phone bless him. Loves Micky D!! Thinks we should of offloaded Gallas instead.

I think the issue is we are trying to raise funds though and Gallas will not bring in any money, to me they are similar level now, if we can get one more year out of Gallas then this makes financial business sense even if it is gutting to see him go.

and most of the time he gives the ball straight back to the opposing team.

Be gutted to see Dawson go, but 9 million is a good price for our 4th choice centre back, still not sure if we have enough centre back's with there injury record Kaboul/Gallas/Vertgohen & Caulker centre back's, right back's we have Walker/Naughton, left we have Ekotto/Fyers? think we might sign another centre back who is either young or a bit older for experience.

Dawson could do a lot better than QPR imo, sorry to see him go, a loyal servant and ambassador for the club, never complained.
