We should definetly look at signing him... I'm hoping for Villa to get relegated so we get him.

He's only 22 playing in a poor side and bullied Vertonghen when we played them at the Lane. He's so strong yet has good technique and his goaltally proves he's a cool finisher, already settled in premier league...... What more people do people want??? Oh a 23yo Brazillian costing >£20million who's unproven in Europe.

Sign Benteke Levy!!!!

A striker who doesn't miss so many sitters and cost his side points and cup final appearances. We need to go up a level not down so someone better than we have.

the problem is that the amount of times i saw something like this posted during the window "we need to take a chance on a player before they become top level and beyond us financially", well that's easy to say but i bet the majority of players in question would've been scoffed at had we actually signed them while they were "unproven". everyone wants a proven top quality forward for max £15m, well sorry to break it to you but those don't exist.

saying lets go for him 3 or 4 years time is absolutely useless.

We need a quality striker to come in and be 1st choice, buying someone who's not good enough to do that right now is useless.

All those people clamouring to sign Benteke now just think, a year or 2 ago you'd be taking the piss out of Spursking if he mentioned him. Why don't you give him a break and research on the web some of the players he mentions instead of just slating him.

So what if he just recommends African players, expand your horizons beyond the top tiers and Brazil and appreciate the input from a fellow Spurs fan.

We appreciate the input from Dinpomp and most of their input is Croatian. I hope we get more Spurs fans from places like Korea, Japan, Uruguay, Ghana, Morocco etc... just so we can get these insights into local leagues and teams. Or even fans not from there but who put time and effort into looking into young players and the national leagues.

Belgian here, so maybe a bit biased but seen Benteke play numerous times. He can be a bit hit-and-miss, which will be ironed out anyway when he grows older, but anyone doubting he's a 20-25 PL goals a seasons striker with the squad we have , should watch him more often. Has the ability and strength to lead the line on his own, goal scoring instinct...

Not really, he had already looked good for Belgium before Villa signed him and I remember when he was announced thinking we couldn't done worse than him for the price

Spursking NEVER recommended him, he's too busy wumming it with joke players who haven't shown any potential or reason to sign them

Really? You're creaming over Sissoko for Newcastle and SK mentioned him 3 years or so ago!

Dinpomp only draws our attention to players who have shown genuine talent or potential and backs it up with a detailed analysis of the players style of play/performances/transfer rumours as well as video clips for us to see.

There's a hell of a difference between what Dinpomp offers the forum and Spursking giving us regular lists of random young African players in France. Which is why Dinpomp is respected and Spursking is mocked.

My point was he's not currently good enough to be our first choice striker, he's not better than Adebayor so if we buy him he won't play enough to reach that level. I think he could eventually if he carried on playing regularly, stopped falling over a lot and becoming more consistent.

Villa are going to want 15-20m for him in the summer I'd rather we spent it on player in their peak, Negredo for one.

Couldn't give a toss about Damiao.

Who would stay at Villa now? They probably have the most boring team in the league. N'Zogbia and Benteke the only good players left there.

Who is on the scoresheet today?
Benteke and N'Zogbia. Both goals also came after getting on Dawkins and Bent. It makes sense that the team gets stronger with them on. Another example of a manager who does not use the best starting lineup.
Another interesting player not playing in the starting lineup is the guy who came on now - Sylla.

Benteke looks pretty decent. 22 years old. Would like him here to be honest. But it would cost alot of money now. 15m+

He put in his usual up and down game today some neat backheels and powerful runs followed by awful control and finishing, fair play for putting that pen away so calmly though. We have Ade already do we need another average finisher? ;)

I don't dislike the player I think he'll be very good one day but I can't see him thriving at the Lane right now, a few of his incompetent performances in a row and point winning chances missed and the crowd will be on his back. At the moment he seems like the kind of signing we used to make in the 90's - player has 1 good season at smaller club (or in this case half a season for those that want him now) and we buy him up only to find he was playing at his absolute peak and can't handle the higher expectations. He's having a decent/good season but if he has a very good season next year and shows improvement then I wouldn't be against making a move for him.

he wasn't at his best today, i didn't see any awful finishing though? he did put one wide but he was offside anyway(after n'zogbia delayed the pass too long). it's rather pointless saying if he has a brilliant season next year then you'd be happy to sign him, as by that point his price will be even higher and bigger clubs will be in for him. you either take a chance at the end of the season or you look elsewhere.

Exactly. Bigger clubs will be in for him after he has a very good season, not after half a decent one. I like to think we are a bigger club than Villa these days, and I just want a certain caliber of player for our first team now that we're up there.
