I really hope we don't have the idea to loan him out to the nowhere of Britain.

I guess we have a chance to develop a real player if he can work here from day one with MoPo and his staff. With the combo Soldado and Lamela he has two big names as close friends and mentor.

Just give him Lennons spot in the squad and give him some competitive chances/ minutes from time to time. I have high hopes here.

He is 22 in few months, the hype at Barca was beyond 5 years ago, when he was just small kid (cue to Owen Price). He never got playing competitive games at Barca B, never won youth caps with Spain etc., so it's rather fair to say at that point when he left for us, he wasn't highly regarded.

He played 19 League games (1.288 mins) at Arouca last season scoring 1 and having 0 or 1 assists pending on source. He also featured on 5 domestic cup games (357 mins) scoring 1 and having 0 assists. Wouldn't hold my breath regarding any sort of breakthrough.

Agree with all that. In the u21's (the season before he went to Arouca) he looked quite good - but Pritchard (who has similarities) yo him looked better, and scored more goals especially from free kicks. Ceballos scored some goals and git some sassists in the u21's but generally was regarded as being technically very good, lots of flicks and tricks and great to watch but actually lacking much end product.

Give him time in pre-season by all means, but not sure he will contribute enough in the first team.

You realize he is 1 year younger than Townsend and mere 5 years younger than Lennon (who has been around for ages - actually 9 PL campaings with us and 2 seasons with Leeds and he is just 5 years older than Ceballos) and last season he had one goal or assist per 1288 mins at Arouca playing mainly at right flank. I mean Andros couldn't do shit last season at PL and yet still he had 3 times better ratio on completely different league and so has Lennon as shite campaign as he had. So as dismayed I was with Lennons performances, I'd rather give him 6 year new contract than replace him with someone who has CV of Ceballos at this point.

Well i dont expect him to score that much, He has a god given passing talent. And does more assists than u think. Someone to have a big eye on this year. I looked at like 10 games he played in last year and he`s eye for the game is something special. Someone have to make the pass, right :p

Had one or 0 pending source last season, it was against Braga that some sources give him assists, some don't.

Still seems managed MOM twice, so there was apparently good points too despite low tallies.

Now Pritchard, year younger, is one that might go into PL player. Watched 1 Swindon game last season, scored a cracker from free kick and was generally very good. Apparently was good on other games too to be considered for Young Player of the Year at Football League. Interesting to see how he cuts it at Championship, but if he manages it like he did at Swindon, he might be in contention for 15/16 season for first team proper spots.

What i tryed to say was that he had wider range to his game. And that this is not Ice hockey where they just look at the points, Fotball dont work like THAT!

I AM GOING MENTAL! Have i been tropped in point land?

Jesus Navas only scored 4 (GOALS) for Man city, HE IS SHITE! ...... ironic
Christiano Ronaldo just scored 3 GOALS in hes first season at sporting! HE IS SHITE!-.-

While I generally agree, someone supposedly as offensive as him and playing on the flank ought to have some goals and assists.

during last season he made 10 goals in 11 games in u21 HAPPPPPPPPPPY? !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He is young. And with many young players it takes 1 maby 2 seasons to adapt to senior fotball.

You can not just compare. Some just need more time and a bit of confidence and the right tactics to shine

Maybe i am too optimistic here but i have my hopes

Go to his loan thread. In the game he got his goal, he got a quality assist. Plus threaded the ball at the end where the guy missed a one on one trying to round the keeper. A better striker that's another assist, they were both quality balls stats only tell so much.

Additionally just from watching the vid he clearly got about 5 assists last season which for some reason not reported with excellent balls into the box. And it looks as though he scored a freekick at the end. He also won a penalty which doesn;t count as an assist and I think a freekick which was scored. Plus there were plenty more chances in that vid that should have been buried.

Unless I watched incorrectly he registered 2 goals and around 5 assists and should have had more. For what it's worth I think Pritchard is slightly better but the big 5 from our good u21 season all have the ability to play PL imho. And just because Lennon has had 9 PL campaigns it doesn't make him effective anymore, heck he was one of my favourite players at his peak and his assist/goals stats were still never that good. Lennon has been on the decline for the last couple of years now as you are a fan of them I'm sure you would know his assist/goal tally, but I dont think it was very high considering the minutes he played. The same way I'd rather give Pritchard a chance ahead of Lennon I would give Ceballos a chance.

Well, if he makes it with us, it will be MoPo who is the making of him. Seems like the perfect coach to train up a technically skilled player. Excited to see how this progresses

He also scored 10 goals in 13 games for the reserve team before his loan.

Actually more like 11 goals and 8 assists in 22 games total. Ryan Mason had 8 goals and 3 assists in 10, Obika 18 goals and 4 assists in 17, Falque 6 goals and 6 assits in 8 and so on. So guess there we have our new front 4 for 13/14?

He had the other goal in the domestic cups, mentioned on previous page, hence not counted on league total.

What's your point? If he does well for the first team are you going to keep spouting shit? Support him and see what happens. Sure, a lot of people are basing their thoughts on him on a 45 minute stint but why are you so negative about it?

Not negative, merely realistic. You've seen quite a few players of supposedly similar standing on summer friendlies having decent games and get similar hype without them ever leaving mark on competitive games. And of course I support him, shitloads more than big chunk of here support Naughtons, Dawsons and Roses of 1st team, I'm just not expecting him to feature for Spurs. As for making it about support, I'm not biggest fan Lennon, but I'm not calling him to be replaced due youtube clip and 45 mins on summer friendly. At least I support and honor him that much for his years of service.

Realistic? You even got your stats about his loan wrong. You repetitive shit sprouting is irritating.
