Side note, but Huddlestone really should go there.

Really? I was think Barcelona was more his scene with the way some people go on about him.

Disclaimer: I don't dislike Thudd, just don't see where he can fit in anymore.

Nah I think he might go to Juve when Pirlo retires. Hudd is heir apparent according to many...

Update from my Bayern loving mate.

Can is not happy with the current situation and lack of BL footy and wants opportunities.

Good timing for us.

Well, certainly not in tight spaces, revolving doors or hatchback cars.

How much game time would he get with us though?

Emre Can is an all-rounder, who can play as LB, RB, DM, box-to-box MF so he would be useful. Right now he's not better than and current Spurs in those position (apart from LB) but he could be very useful during a long season.

"Utility Player" comes to mind, straight from AVB as well.

Not only will e be a valuable utility player if we can snap him up, but he will also allow us to get the likes of Livermore, Huddlestone and Parker off our books as he can provide a suitable back up to Sandro

Would he be a good enough cover for Sandro?

I'm thinking something like this for next season:

Defensive: Sandro, Can, Jake.

Playmaker: Pjanic? (Cabaye?), Gylfi, Carroll.

Box-to-box: Dembele, Holtby.

Maybe a loan for Carroll to a mid-table club, Swansea would be perfect!

He'll be playing in the under 21 championship next week in Israel. Am trying to get tickets for the Germany Holland match... if I go, I'll try send in a bit of a scouting report...

I still say: Not good/experienced enough to start for us. Holtby is about three steps further and has an english family and still problems to show his full potential and problems to get in the team.

There will be plenty of Bundesliga clubs interested and honestly a better option for him.

As an utility cover option not a bad idea, but never ever first choice.

He was included in a 'players to watch at the U21 championships' preview from Yahoo:

Emre Can (Bayern Munich) – He won the treble with Bayern this season, but only played four Bundesliga games with Arjen Robben, Franck Ribery and Bastian Schweinsteiger ahead of him. The 19-year-old midfielder isn't satisfied with his situation. "Next year I won’t have the same situation like in the past – to train with professionals and play with amateurs." His confidence appears justified – he is one of Germanys best up-and-coming players in his position, which is similar to Schweinsteiger's. His style is similar too – tall, strong but with excellent close control and passing, he is a born leader. Yet to play for the U21s but is expected to start and will probably head out on loan next season to show his full talent.

Seems to be generally quite highly rated...

He does look a good prospect. Can't imagine it's easy to get games ahead of Shweinsteiger, Gustavo and Martinez.

Something tells me that he'll want large amounts of playing time, i.e. starter's minutes.

And he's not going to get them over Sandro I don't think. Also I don't really think this club is at the level that we need to develop other clubs' players, we should buy our own.

Think he could surprise people, could come in like Paul Pogba has for Juve.
