Carroll played better deeper, and Alli plays better in an attacking role.

I hope this is how they spend most of the match
Alli was playing with Dier in front of back 4 for most of season and it worked so well it got him into England squad.
Carroll is a small lightweight playmaker not suited to that role imo.
Thats why I don't get it.
Carroll in the 3, no problem but asking him to break up play when he's 5ft 2" and 8 stone?
Not for me Clive.

So are people allowed to not rate a player? Just to be clear.
No, you can rate a player after a series of games, but not berate a player based on 70 mins. Of course, you could state that you're entitled to your opinion, but then that's what that idiot Neal Ashton said.

Sorry, Poch's job was "on the line". What dimension is Souness living in?

Did Graeme Souness just say Pochettino's job was on the line before Harry Kane started scoring last season....

*adds that to list of Sounessisms, which include Modric being a 5 a side player and the weak link at Madrid.

You do realize we could end up losing the game and there could be another reason for us doing so other than Carroll? Sorry just floating that possibility.
I want him to be a success! Just have not seen it yet, but want to. If we loose he won't be my scapegoat, unless he has a mare, and I hope he has a blinder.

Again, why is the choice between Carroll and Mason/Bentaleb? We've seen Alli/Dier play in a CM2 and play well there numerous times, so the choice is Carroll/Mason/ or Son. To me, it's a no brainer. Wet surface favors pace and dribbling, the latter we lack lack without Dembele. Good thing happen when Son/Eriksen/Lamela are out there together.

Yeah agree I would have started Son. His tenacity would also have helped push Coleman back.

Glad Eriksen is back, he's one of our best players and we need him to try and find some form, a firing Eriksen in the second half of the season could really lift us.

As for Carroll I'm hoping he proves me wrong, I would have started Son and moved Alli back for better balance in attack and Alli's energy in midfield. Just think the tackling, strength and energy drop off going from Dembele to Carroll is very big and would have preferred Alli or Mason in there. As I say i'm hoping to be proved wrong and am willing to go along with Poch.

Can't wrap my brain around the Eriksen - Alli - Lamela at all. I could at least understand the Eriksen - Dembele - Lamela despite disagreeing with it, but this AM3 just makes no sense to me, despite being all players I favor.
I'm with you. Eriksen on the right is a head-scratcher.

It's so weird in here each and every time we get the line-up before games. Some of you just moan and complain. MoPo has been amazingly and regularly getting it right. We're 4th, only lost twice, coming from 3 wins on the bounce, have a goal difference of + 18, best defence in the league, playing amazing football, youngest team all around.............................!!!!!!!!!

Just get behind the team, sit back and enjoy it ! Long it may so continue !

Souness thinks Kane spared Poch from the chop. Did you ever hear such shite?

I don't understand why this gets peddled out so much. Your suppose to have great players that scores goals in your team, the media punditry act as though the great sides who won trophys never had one. Fergie understood this more than anyone and always had great goalscorers.
