I find it difficult to believe that a team with Everton's quality and a manager of Martinez's ability will contrive to lose three home matches in succession. They will have been doing defensive drills all week, after the meltdown against Stoke. And they have plenty of very exciting attacking players.

In the absence of Dembélé, the only place on the pitch where we have a meaningful superiority is in goal.

Get the feeling this is a huge game, If we win then we are bang in the title race with Leicester and Sunderland at home in our next two where we expect a minimum of 4 points while Arse have to go to Anfield and Stoke and we could really close the gap.

Everton playing Tuesday or Wednesday in the carling cup? May help us if they take the eye off the ball in this one.

Tricky game. Hard to see Everton lose a third game in a row. They are due one today but you never know.

Key will be how we deal with Barkley and Lukaku. Some real battles out there today.

Dier vs Barkley could be explosive.

I think one of their main issues in defence has been Howard's decreasing mobility. That's certainly what their fans have been saying.

Stones has been making lots of mistakes recently and has been over playing. Pressing high on him could pay dividends. How you can say we are only superior to them in goal is ridiculous. We have the best defence in the league and their midfield will contain Gareth Barry. Lukaku and his supporting cast are currently in great form and arguably "better" than us right now but as for the rest of the side, no way.

He's my main concern tbh.

I have a bad feeling about this game.

I suppose we got two extra points at watford so we can afford a bit of a blip..

Dier needs to stay deeper than usual today IMO. Lukaku's improved at dropping off into space and Barkley's deadly when he gets room behind midfields. Mason in today, a bit of tenacity is needed away at Goodison, and I'd like to see Son start.

I'm not sure how much you can blame on the goalkeeper when Martinez defences have always been leaky. Would you take any of their centre back partnerships over Verts-Toby? I definitely wouldn't.

I know this is only one example but when we last played them their defence was terrible (their whole team was terrible really) apart from Howard who was excellent.

Any team wanting to be in the shake up come may , must get results at places like Everton , always seemed a good hunting ground for the likes of Man u arsenal and chelsea . Esp at a time when their confidance is shaky a few injuries and questions being asked of their manager .

Please let's not go into meltdown if we lose. It's not the end of the world considering how topsy turvy this league is.

This match will be dictated by what lineup Pochettino puts out there. It's imperative he start Son/Eriksen/Lamela up top. They were the reason we beat Palace, were a major reason why we crushed City, and were all contributors against Watford last week. If he overthinks things again and starts Carroll, or starts Mason, who has started once in the league since early September, then I think we will start the match slower and have to hold them at bay before winning the match late again.

Really, if merit matters, Son should start, as he had a strong cameo against Watford even apart from the goal.

It'll be interesting to see what full-backs Pochettino goes with. I'll be surprised if he goes with Rose/Walker. Got a feeling Trippier will start this one.
