I thought it was obvious to swap out one of the CMs for stambouli, even if he lasts 55-60mins at least we start the game fit and fast and raring to go. If we get an early goal we are in the box seat and the game is different.

And yes obviously Chadli in for Kane. Chadli hadnt played for a cpl of weeks, kane was blatantly obviously knackered.

And no this is not in hindsight, I said the exact thing before the game!

Fair play on those ones, those ones are deffo on Poch (Poch must think Chadli and Benji aren't match fit or something) but that's about it in terms of serious rotation options (which says a lot about our club at the moment)

I

I think a lot of this is in the players minds. They are told they are tired so they are tired.

Yes , basic psychology . Your boss says he knows it'll be a bit 'difficult' but can you do this extra work . You do your best , but busting a gut ?

On the other hand AVB completely denied that Europa had the slightest effect on next game Prem energy levels....didn't stop them being riven with fatigue/poor performances .

Not really. He's given them a ready made excuse when they fail. Even the ones that didn't go abroad last time looked knackered. Its a mindset.

In all the games Stambouli has played he has looked absolutely knackered at half time. I would say for what ever reason he isn't fit enough to play in the premier league yet. That is the only reason I can think of as he has looked pretty decent.
I thought he looked fine in the first couple of games, but certainly in the Partizan game he wasn't moving around so well. Perhaps he is carrying a knock we don't know about or perhaps you're right he is simply isn't fit enough yet. Which shows up our scouting system once again!

It could be a chicken and egg regarding fitness as you need games to get match fit... Maybe Poch just prefers Mason and Bentaleb... AS strange as anything is why Capoue isn't playing after being 1st choice for so many games at the start?

I agree, 20 mins here and there though, surely. Maybe poch hasn't had enough faith in him just yet as pretty much most of our wins have been tight affairs. Hopefully we will see more of him over Xmas. Yep the Capoue situation is strange, no mention of an injury as fair as I am aware.
