Where does 7,5 mill come from?

Does any media seriously believe that we are paying 7,5 mill for a player who will be a free agent in six months?

If we do, I will be shocked. He might be good but not THAT good.

A misprint in the Grauniad, where else?

Under £2m.

GILBERTO JOINS

We are delighted to announce we have reached agreement with Hertha Berlin for the transfer of Brazilian international Gilberto.

The left-back, who can also play on the left side of midfield, spent three and a half years in Germany where he made 101 appearances in the Bundesliga for Hertha after joining from Sao Caetano in his homeland.

The 31-year-old has won 27 caps for his country and was a member of the Brazil squads that won the 2004 and 2007 Copa America, as well as the Confederations Cup in 2005. He also featured in the 2006 World Cup and scored his first international goal against Japan.

Gilberto has made one previous appearance at White Hart Lane in September 2006 during the Brazil-Wales friendly fixture.

That's Gilberto for those who didn't figure it out.

Bastards at Spurs had him in for a photo shoot and all and just couldn't be arsed to tell us

The club is delighted to announce the signing of Gilberto. In the interests of accuracy the club wishes to make it clear that, contrary to reports in this morning's papers, there were no issues arising from his medical.
The delay was entirely due to the player needing to return to Germany as part of the work permit process in order to obtain his entry clearance visa. Gilberto is available for selection subject to receipt of his international transfer certificate.

Good to hear

I agree SS. It was too strange, and I'm glad we doubted that poxy Hertha site.

I propose a toast to a Transfer Done stamp in our awesome Transfer Rumour honour:

There was no link to that interview (or if there was, it wasn't posted here).

Common sense wins.

Me too, looking forward to Saturday with a potential Hutton-Woody-Leds/Hudds-Gil back line--absolutely massive.

Well happy with our defensive signings this transfer window. Don't know much about this guy, but if he's an established Brazilian international that's good enough for me.

Roll on Saturday till we see the new lads against Utd.
