I think that most people I speak to about football don't know that Villas-Boas is pronounced like that, so they probably think I'm having shum short of Shteve McClaren-Shtyle weird accent episode when I say it.

I'm still not a fan of it being abbreviated. The only people who can get away with using their initials as their name are JR, PT, R2-D2, and Mr T.

Agree with the OP and it shows a lack of respect and laziness for me, but we are living in the text and twitter age where everything is shortened.

Personally I don't use AVB - I may have a few times in the past but not anymore. I never used the abbreviations VDV and BMJ either, these are footballers and managers not buzzwords or units of measurement.
