Calling someone by their initials is disrespectful? Maybe if you have PMT it is (that's not an abbreviation for Neil Warnock by the way).

Didn't feel too much disrespect when RDM won the UCL last year but was referred to as RDM.

I don't know really, I say AVB or just Villas-Boas (without the silly pronounciation). The pundits will never get it spot on anyway, so they may prefer to abbreviate it.
